Shocked and saddened by the news about Marvin Hamlisch.

I am disturbed that Twitter won't turn over the identity of the individual making the threat about a mass shooting in the Mike Tyson show. I am all for our privacy, but if you make a remark like that, you give up your rights to privacy. Law or no law.

Kind of torn about the Twitter position. Under their terms, they have the right to disclose if is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person.

If I was advising Twitter, I would say there was enough there in the threat to disclose without a subpoena, but I understand the other position. The twit with the tweet has claimed to be in Florida, so, arguably there is not a specific threat (but a general one). But, again, if it was me, I would think there is enough there to justify disclosure to the cops.

But, the NYPD can subpoena the records. Twitter can then disclose without possibly violating its own terms.

And, so sad about Marvin. The last time I saw him was on Idina's special, and he seemed to be having loads of fun with her.

le sigh.

It's been me for the past few weeks, so I don't mind someone else taking the title for a bit lol
