"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

Okay. A better question, and easier to answer, would be what DON'T I like to snack on?

I'm gonna go make some of those little twisty spaghetti things and eat them with butter. That sounds really appealing right now.

Right now I'd like a sloppy joe, some applesauce, and a bowl of warm banana pudding.

Who can eat? I'm just nauseous. Depression and fear have a rather unpleasant effect on my stomach.

The water for my farfalle is boiling as we speak. I couldn't find the other twisty kind, unfortunately, but it's still spaghetti and I will eat it.

Mashed potatoes with gravy, sliced turkey and some peas with butter. Then a cup of hot tea with milk and sugar, a good cry, and a nap with my mini-dachshund.

HeartinNYC, your signature makes me wish I was old enough to drink. If there was ever a day I wanted to drink so much that I forget recent events, it's today.

I also need The Frogs. Gotta love those subtle political jabs.

Mythus, the older I get, the more I realize that that quote from "The Frogs" is accurate. SADLY.

Mythus, that is good self advice. You have plenty of time to be old and jaded like the rest of us! re: Comfort Food

Perhaps you should all eat crow. Maybe with Heinz Ketchup on it.

I just dont like mashed potatoes. But something I do like that is comfort food to me is a dish called Kasha Varnishkes. It is a Jewish Eastern European dish of cooked buckwheat kernals with sauteed onion and mushrooms with cooked bow tie pasta. Not only is it comforting.........it is very high in fiber and iron.
