Remember the ghost on CCTV at Hampton Court a year or two ago? (Nmartin, I know you do.)

SPOILER
The "ghost" is a person walking through the monitor room behind the person who is holding the video camera and moving it toward the monitor.
I'm sure you're right. It's very cleverly done, though, the way the "ghost" seems to follow the walkway.
A "ghost" would not have light reflection above it and under it the way this one did....good try though.
Disney is so insane-o as a company I don't know how someone would be able to film something THIS behind-the-scenes, much less leak it.
Nice job, though.

Back in the day, when I worked in the park, I had sex with my boy friend on the People Mover. (We were the only ones in our 'train')
When we exited the ride, the ride Op had rewound the tapes and played me the whole thing. You saw everything.
So, I know they have the capability of rewinding and playing back monitors.
LOL, were you fired? I hope at lest it was good sex.

It's fairly logical that if something like this DID show up on the cameras then the security guard or whoever was monitoring would have rewound the tape to get a better look, and probably grabbed a video camera from somewhere around (ok the chances of one being nearby are slim but still, it happens) to capture some evidence of the event themselves.
The video could be real.... but that ghost took one looooong walk, they're usually only "caught" in brief glimpses if ever.
Anyway, like I said, in a theme park like Disney a genuine haunted house seems a little too convenient to be true, and this is most likely a doctored video made by someone playing around with special effects.
There are still plenty of ghost stories connected with the parks though, so who knows for sure?

Yeah, you're right, that ghost takes its own sweet time whereas everybody knows a real ghost would never do that.

Exactly? Who knows for sure? The Shadow knows.
BTW, James Randi has a million dollar offer for the lucky and terrified person who catches the absolutely 100% real (I mean, WHO KNOWS?) ghost on camera at Disneyland.

Oh I know that the ghost walking such a long distance being evidence to support it's non-existence sounds a bit stupid, but all I meant was that it was on screen for a long period of time and was caught on 4 different cameras, which is very rare.
Usually any "ghost footage" people capture offers only a brief glimpse. I don't know how ghosts "behave" if they do exist, but in other videos where supposed "ghosts" appear they don't seem behave in the same way that this one does.

I really don't think there's much consensus on one specific way ghosts behave. Plus, they aren't real.

Awwwwww phooey! No Disney ghost?

Yes, Evie, there is a Disney ghost. He exists as certainly as YouTube and Park Jumper Passes and Miley Cyrus, and you know that they abound and give to our life its highest beauty and joy.
I believe in Hannah Montana, but not Miley Cyrus. And don't even get me started on Hilary Duff. You think the Yeti and that stupid dragon are impressive, but they don't hold a candle to Disney's most incredible display of animatronics.
Phew! What a relief.
I LOVE James Randi!.. I think Penn and Teller also have something to do with that Million Dollar Challenge, don't they?
No, I didn't get fired! Thankfully the ride op was a friend of mine.
And yes, I found out that the monitors CAN be re-wound so that security can double check things.
Considering my current husband saw my dead Grandmother next to me while I was sleeping when we were in town for her funeral, and he never believed in ghosts before that, I belive they are real.

Disney has the $$ necessary to pull off viral marketing such as this. It brings more mood to the whole Haunted Mansion experience.
It'd be kinda cool if they actually try to go for creepy and scary instead of cartoon-y scary/creepy...if that makes any sense at all!

Wildcard, I believe they would do a much better job of it so you couldn't tell the person is walking through the room behind the photographer.
Namo,
If that were the case, how does the figure appear in overlapping shots? It's clearly on both monitors as it walks through the gate. You can't do that by standing behind someone.
Also, you couldn't do the walking thing, because as you walked tpwards the monitors, the figure would get larger in size.
Sorry...

He's walking across the room not toward the monitor.
