Once again, proof why millions of Americans in "flyover" country dislike you and others like you. Your condescending remark an attitude that you are better than them is insulting. Yes, I have seen a few rallies on TV, look like any other political rally with people cheering for their candidate.

Interesting you say "elites". Am watching the post wrap up and as I turned the TV on, they were talking about just that and the Democrats now not being looked at as a party for the "little people" but the elite.

There is a shift and the Democrats have not learned how to shift with it. 

I also do agree with Jay, men do still have a problem voting for women here for President. I had friends that knocked on doors in black communities and found that the men were not going to vote for her. Some said they were voting for Trump and some were "undecided". (Which meant they probably were not planning to vote). Even black women were not totally behind her. Something that was not even on my radar was black women voting for Trump because of the stimulus check. And that shows just how much attention they don't pay to things. 

For those who are not happy today I heard someone say this morning that we just can't let him get in our heads. Continue to fight for the country and our rights, if need be.

HG, it’s not the title I find harmful. Although “lady” is certainly an outdated term. It’s the legacy that the job of First Lady has left. It has impacted on public perception - men are “presidential", women are there to look pretty and hold their husband’s hand. A glorified housewife. 
 

I acknowledge that the role has changed somewhat, starting with Hillary, but still, enough.

First Lady is an old term. used when the monarch is unmarried and has no pne to act as hostess. The eldest unmarried female in the family (usually a sister) took on that role and became the First Lady of the land

That is correct but you failed to mention the context I used the term. I said they were "stupid" to vote for Trump again in primary because of all of the drama that comes with him. I believed at that time they had a wonderful chance for a generational change in leadership instead of somebody close to 80. Desantis or Haley are much younger and would have been stark contrast to Biden who we believed would be the nominee for the Democrats. At that time, I thought Trump hatred would destroy him again in 2024 like it did in 2020. I will admit I was wrong just like so many pollsters. I never said these Trump voters were not smart intellectually nor did I classify them as racist, sexist or homophobic. I also did not refer to them as "deplorables" or "garbage". Big difference Jay but thanks for trying -lol.

Having finished w my pedantry. Ley me just sau 5 yrs ago I wrote here that thr Dems needed the find young fresh clean candidates w new ideas, not the same old same old. Even in midterms I said the same thing

 But same old is what was offered so no surprise really.

Given the full extent of the win I think you have to accept this is who America wants to be now.

(PS I say this knowing in my country's next election, Dustin is gone and Pierre Polieve. will be our version of Trump)

Thank you for implying all of that based on one question I asked. My point was all this pearl clutching about some of the language Dems have used is silly when the Trump rallies were nothing but insults, derogatory nicknames and a total lack of respect for anyone outside of their political alignment. It cuts both ways and to pretend it doesn’t is just ridiculous.

They ARE deplorable garbage actually, and they're not only in the American heartland. They're everywhere and they're hateful and evil and they know it.

And the democrats are spineless and stupid and absolutely useless. They handed the American Nazis this country on a silver platter with the way in which they just downright refused to actually help the working class of this nation. Joe Biden was an absolutely useless idiot. Couldn't even be bothered to make sure that federal student loans were eradicated. The blame should just as much be placed on them.

Oh and the Nazis are tired of "big tech?" Big tech like Elon Musk? Lol. And all of Hollywood voted for Trump regardless of who they endorsed because Trump's evil tax plan helps the super rich elites.

For you, I take great pleasure in proving  you wrong and hope you learn something from this experience. Somehow I knew more than you despite being a 'foreigner' or whatever prejudice you hold. It means that when someone in GOOD FAITH articulates why they think the incompetence of the Democrats has put their 2024 presidency at risk instead of being so nasty you might be reasonable and realise that you can learn a thing or two. You should feel a little bit of shame and embarrassment not continue this ridiculous tirade.

Just highlighting your uipdate where still you did not admit that you are not a citizen of the United States.  I can only assume that you are ashamed of your home country.  The term "foreigner" is a fact, not an insult.  No prejudice on my part (read through some of my threads and posts where I discuss Great Britain).  Were you honest about where in the hell you hang your hat, I might have engaged with you and some of your LONG-winded posts.  Occasionally you were spot on.  But you can NEVER hope to have an understanding of our political system

One clue that you are not an American is your spelling of the word "realise".  We don't spell it that way in the U.S.
