The MAGAs jumping for joy today thinking the economy is going to be great next year, the wars will all end and this will turn into a white, Christian nation. Lots of unfollowing and unfriending people on the socials today.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Same. There will inevitably be a lot of "post-mortems" on the Harris campaign, just as there was with Hillary. But I'm tired of blaming the good guys, and holding them to a constantly shifting goal post, while the voting public gives a free pass to a party that has explicitly spelled out its Christo-Fascist agenda, lied through its teeth about literally everything, and, what's more, has policy proposals that would ACTIVELY HARM the economy.

This should not even have been competitive. At some point, you have to call a spade a spade and add sheer stupidity to misogyny, racism, homo/transphobia, and whatever other social ills characterize the apparent majority of eligible voters.

Jay, you are so predictable and wrong once again. In 2016, Hillary Clinton called Trump supporters "deplorable", Trump won. In 2024, President Biden called Trump supporters "garbage", Trump won. See a pattern here Jay -lol. As somebody who thought Democrats would win because Trump hatred would win the day, I was really surprised at outcome. That being said, I knew Harris was in trouble when I heard yesterday that an exit poll showed that 70% of the people who voted thought the country was heading in the wrong direction. Another major misstep by Harris was when she was asked on "The View" if there was anything different, she would do from Biden, she answered no. Jay, you wanted the electoral college to be abolished but Trump is going to win popular vote also. He will be first republican to do that since Bush (43) in 2004.

The other big deal was Republicans took control of the Senate, say goodbye to Schumer as majority leader. Just as important, the Republicans will replace McConnell as their leader. Hoping they make a good choice, and it is somebody a bunch younger!!!

I just saw that Michigan has been "called" for Trump also giving him 15 more electoral votes. With two states left and Trump leading in both, he may go over 300 electoral votes.

One other thing, Republican voters in NC nominated the biggest moron you could for Governor. Thankfully he got clobbered. Even with that potentially hurting Trump, he still carried NC.

First, women did not even have the right to vote until 1920. In the last 8 years, you have had two women be the Democratic nominee for POTUS. They lost for a variety of reasons, and I think in our current times being a woman is not the main reason they lost. Just curious Jay, would you have been this upset if somebody like Nikki Haley had lost running for POTUS. The cynic in me is pretty sure you only care about the "right type" of woman becoming POTUS -lol.

I understand not wanting to paint ALL Trump voters as sexist or racist or whatnot, but there is no denying that the gender wars (especially among younger men, of all races) have played a part in this election. The rhetoric around both Clinton and Harris on the "Manosphere" was pointedly misogynist. You can see videos on Youtube from seemingly innocuous channels (mostly fitness, self-improvement, motivational Youtubers who cater primarily to young men) make "defending masculinity" a major part of the messaging. It's an undeniable part of the alt-right movement.

I think the first female POTUS might just be Republican. It’s far more likely than a Democrat woman, because any conservatives would already be on their side by default. The UK have had three female Prime Ministers, all conservative. The conservative party over there only this week selected a female person of color as their new leader. Would the GOP do that?

When I think of who won last night, I’d happily settle for Nikki Haley. That glass ceiling needs to be smashed.

Is it "harmful" that the female spouse/partner of the Vice President has the title of "Second Lady"? Is it "harmful" that the husband of the current Vice President has the title of "Second Gentleman"? Or, had Kamala become President, would it be "harmful" for her husband to have the title of "First Gentleman"?

"First Lady" and the other titles are meant as a mark of respect for those spouses/partners who have their own very real roles along with the President or Vice President. Nothing harmful. Nothing disrespectful.
