For some reason I'm very excited about my schools spring production of "The Wizard of Oz". I just thought that in this thread we could share some cool and interesting things with each other about our upcoming musicals.
- Our yellow brick road goes out through the audience. So we are dancing and singing out into the house.
- We hired a flying company, so that Glinda can fly in and off in her bubble, as well as the Wicked Witch(on her broom). Other characters are also flying like the wizard, and the flying monkeys.
- On our last sunday show, we are having a dress up conest for all who attend.
And you?
Oh, we finished ours 2 days ago and now I miss it so much, everyone was so awesome and we got SUCH a good response
Not a musical, but this year the 8th Grade Drama was one that we wrote. It went up on Thursday and we got a really great response, so that was exciting.
UNBELIEVABLY EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're doing Jesus Christ Superstar, and I'm playing Pilate. The whole cast is so strong, and everyone is really excited. If you live in the greater washington DC area...check it out!

I'm not excited at all.
i just got cast on friday as Dr. Parker in my school's summer production of "bat boy the musical"... it is going to be friggen sweet.
We're doing Beauty and the Beast in late May, and at first I wasn't that excited because it's kind of just lame mainstream material, but now that rehearsals have started I'm excited because our whole cast is EXCELLENT, and it will be a really fun show.
We have our musical the 20th, we started blocking the 1st, why is my director Such a procrastinator
The musical adaption of Two Gents, makes me thing that we should stick to straight plays...or we totally need better mics.
Gumbo2- I just finished doing Beauty and the Beast last month and I had an absolute blast!!!! It was so much fun and now I'm kind of sad that it's over. What part are you? I got to play a wolf. I wish that I could have had a part like an enchanted object or something, but I still had loads of fun. I also got to play the enchantress in the begining and our school hired a flying company so I could fly! It was so cool!
I also did "Beauty and the Beast" at my school las year. Our production, in my opinion, was ok. Just okay. We had a great set, with a huge castle stairway, we also had a very cool transformation scene. And our costumes were not that bad...but the show was horribly miscast.
Ah when I was Dorothy in Wizard of Oz once our yellow brick road went into the audience, and we danced out in the house right before intermission. Very creative I thought, have fun with it!

We're coming close to opening night! i'm doing My Fair Lady! i play Servant 4/Featured Dancer. i'm having the time of my life!!
Ours just closed last night. We did Peter Pan...I was Peter. It was amazing and I already miss it so much! I will be having withdrawals for months, until the next show...CHILDREN OF EDEN! I'm so excited!
this isnt a SCHOOL musical... but i just finished with PARADE on Sunday. God what an absolutely amazing experience. My best friends from school were in it, too, but it was a community theatre show. I played Iola, and if any of you ever have the opportunity to be in it, have the best audition of your life. It's a show I will never ever forget.
yes indeed. and our cast was tres brilliant!
p.s. I'll call his name, back of my neck!...hahahahaha
we finished The Pajame Game. it was crap.
we won't do another musical for three years
Our show opens Thursday and we haven't blocked act 2. Opps
AAAH YES!! We're doing Little Shop and I'm the voice of Audrey II!!! All of my wonderfully talented very best friends are in it. its gonna be kickass - 17 person cast, and we're doing a small three quarter staging where the whole room will be turned into SKID ROW! im talking crashed cars, run down apartments, the works. I cannot wait.
GypsyRoseLee- Jesus Christ Superstar is my favorite musical! If I lived in the DC area I would totally go. But alas I do not. Break a Leg though!
Only three weeks until Footloose opens at my school! It's so sad because it's my last show at my high school.
I'm Vi Moore so I'm really excited to show everyone what I got!
Las Vegas Academy did "Beauty and the Beast" too last year! it was a pretty good show! i was the prince in the beginning, one of Gaston's Hetchman, the corkscrew (did fuetes in Be Our Guest) so much fun, and a dancer at the end. i hated those costumes. the corkscrew hurt, but it was fun!
very excited actually! we do musicals every other year but every year there is the ninth and tenth grade show and this year is 'You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown". Auditions were yesterday and I feel very confident about it. *crosses fingers and wishes to be cast as sally* Anyway, the list should go up tomorrow, so... yea. i'm excited.
