It's funny to see she didn't have to wait for Anderson Cooper to come out before calling him "a nice poodle."
Betty is heterosexual and highly offended. And she can be a real bitch.
Ryan Murphy must be pleased--he's apparently doing a Honey Boo Boo themed New Normal episode... Always has his pulse on thew zeitgeist I tell ya.
I was most surprised by the fact that Uncle Poodle was kinda cute.
I rescind my 'kinda cute' and replace it with 'totes adorbs.'
Here's her shout out to all her poodle fans.
Honey Boo Boo
That child demonstrates how we glorify genetic defects!

SNAFU....seriously? You think the genetic defect STARTED with the child? Obvious that the mother is genetically defected too!!
I'm thinking the entire state is affected.
No Brian on second thought I think it is a case proving that evolution exists. These people are evolving into some sort of Walrus slug type of humanoid.
The mother is 32, right?
As you can see, Betty is also a pageant queen. But yeah, she does look sorta gay.

Well, they can't help their genes, but there are a lot of people who could learn some things from them.
Certainly nothing dietary! Other then perhaps being a cautionary tale.
That's rather judgmental.

I watched one episode-last night's. What I saw was a family full of love and joy. I saw acceptance of all people. I saw a little girl who, when learning she would not go to the pageant, smile and say there would be other pageants and that she couldn't wait to meet her new niece. I saw an entire family easily accept a new baby's physical deformity, saying all people have something special, and then make light of it. I saw a family totally love and accept their gay member. I saw a little girl shrug and proclaim that we're all a little gay!
Yes there are plenty of things to learn and not being judgmental is one of them.
I watched a perfectly scripted "Reality Show".
No amount of scripting can hide certain truths.
Like words can be placed in the mouths of babes. Editing is key and people act one way when they know they are on camera and completely different when off.
Having known someone who was on a "Reality Show" not much is happenstance.
Of course what we see is created through scripting and editing. No network would allow true reality. That's because the show could be boring, too pleasant, not enough drama, etc. However, I give myself credit for being able to see beneath the veneer.
My instincts tell me that the producers are not trying to portray a hateful family as a loving one. They are not trying to change the little girl's personality and they sure as hell can't hide that she's intelligent.
I was willing to prejudge honey boo boo and her family when I first saw their appearance on Toddlers and Tiaras ( a show which is also scripted and edited but can't hide certain truths). Now after seeing the Honey boo boo show I have a certain amount of admiration for them.
Perhaps I'm wrong and they are really miserable, hateful, and stupid but I doubt it.
Jane that is fine. My distaste for these reality shows runs deep. I liken them to the 21st Century's answer to old carnie freak shows. Not just Honey Boo Boo an clan but all of them, right down to the Real Wives franchise. No matter what message the producers what to get across they are exploiting these people.
I despise the voyueristic nature of them, the manipulative nature of them.
You Do, Of Course, Realize That This Is Going To End Very, Very Badly
