I agree. I SO want the Sabres to win the Cup!
I'm *almost* a Buffalo native, and I've been a fan since 8th grade, so I have to root for them!

No day but today.

adam...I agree it was a clean hit...don't know why the refs called a penalty on it...but I don't know what game those refs were watching because calls for both sides were horrible.

anyone catch the canadians crush carolina? they're my upset pick for the first round in the east!!!

There was no penalty called on that play. I thought there was as well, but the guys in the box were there for the fight which started after the hit.

The officiating in the Devils game this afternoon was rather awful, too. Bettman had this big meeting with the referees reminding them to call the same penalties in the playoffs as they would in the regular season, and the two refs from this afternoon clearly took that to heart. Not that it would have (IMO) effected the outcome of the game, but still.

I'm part Canadian, so I'm a huge hockey fan. My grandfather actually got a hat-trick in a semi-pro game in 27 seconds. He also made the Olympic team, but couldn't afford to go. Anyway, I've been a Wings fan since I was born, and am watching the game right now! I've been sooo happy to have hockey back this year!!!

the rangers are perfectly capable of beating the devils, but theyre in a little slump and i bet it isnt helping their confidence playing a team on an 11 game winning streak either.

I thought the penalties were ridiculous too.

Im going to the first two home games and the third- if we aren't swept.

Very frustrated... I missed all of today's games.

I was at The Color Purple during the afternoon, and then my usual shows were on from 8-10. And for whatever reason, OLN wasn't showing the late game!

Woooooo oh oh
LET'S GO RANGERS!

Okay, so maybe my Rangers arent doing so hot already... but I seem to recall that we always lose the first playoff game. Here's hoping.

I <3 my Rangers. re: NHL playoffs...

I still remember the last time they made it to the playoffs.... I was there..... Who remembers the playoff game with the 18.9 second goal by Luc Robitaille in double overtime??? I was so there for that! haha I pretty much lost my mind when that happened

Alright, I'll shut up now.

Ducks fan here as well...it's a shame they couldn't have won that first game in OT, but at least they got one of the games in Calgary. Now it's back to the Pond--hopefully things will go well at home.

Why isn't OLN showing the Habs-Canes game? They had the Devils-Rangers game, but it was of course blacked out in this area, so instead they showed some Flyers retrospective (!!). The Devils game is now over, and the Habs game is about to start overtime, and we can't see it. Grrrr....

On a happier note, nice win by the Devils.

And what pray tell was Renney thinking starting Weekes tonight?

Wow.

The Devils and Sabres both thoroughly owned the Rangers and Flyers tonight.

The talking heads on OLN just mentioned that Madden's HT (2SHG) is the first playoff HT with 2 shorties since Gretzky in 1985.

Then the Sabres had 2 HT in their game.

Wow. Just wow.

I just really hope that the Rangers get it together for one game. I have tickets to Game 5, if it materializes. *prays for Game 5*. I think it'd be insane to be at a final game of a series and have the home team win.

The Devils have thankfully been playing excellently lately. It better keep up. However, who knows what will happen when Jagr gets back on the ice. Granted he will not be 100% so that will play in the Devils' favor. Go Devs!

Thank GOD. Detroit take that! I didnt think we'd win. The ref was calling EVERYTHING...for us anyways.

I love games that go into overtime and double overtime, its exiting.

DAMN! habs lost in overtime tonight. still 2-1 in the series for the canadians, but it would have been much better if it was 3-0.

I'm so thrilled that many of the series are so close, with many of the underdogs having leads in the series (go Habs and Oilers!!). And I'm also thrilled because my Flyers finally won a game tonight!!!!
