Addy, so did I.............tonight had me laughing and crying at the same time.
I'm so glad I recorded it - so I can watch it again.
There IS a Santa!
That was unexpectedly beautiful. Brittany and Becky were adorable. Brittany's Ricki Lake line was hysterical. Blaine and Kurt were my favorite but I loved the How The Grinch Stole Christmas homage.
:)
Wow, I have not been able to do that all season! Yay!
I turn into a 5 year old with anything to do with the Grinch, so this episode was spectacular!
I actually cannot really say anything bad about it, I am just so happy to have that warmth in my heart again! (even if my future husband didn't get to sing at all - boo).
Thank you, Glee!
Loved tonight's episode. It was funny and heartwarming at the same time. Sue dressed up as the Grinch and Becky as Max was hilarious. I was grinning like an idiot at the end when Artie was walking. Brittany was funny as usual.
Overall, an outstanding episode, but they really need to stop forcing Rachel's solo every week. It had no place in the story.
I wonder if its in her contract.
If it is, then the writers need to work much harder to make it seamless. Right now, it's like throwing As We Stumble Along into The Drowsy Chaperone for the diva.

Rachel's solo fit into the story more than the "Baby It's Cold Outside" duet...ugh. That was not needed at all.
Terrific episode.
And kudos to the creative team for the really remarkable character of Becky. It's a tonic to see a developmentally challenged young woman employed in such a way as to not engender pity or other such emotions. Well, well done.
So true, Robbie. So true!
I'm looking forward to repeat viewings of this episode.
I was crying like a baby as the club performed for the teachers and by the time Artie had his "transformer" (LOL!) I was sobbing hysterically.

This is Darren Criss performing at a Trevor Project benefit on Dec. 5th. This guy's legitimate. I especially love that even though he's obviously a little tuckered out after the first number he just keeps plugging along, giving it his all. And this isn't auto-tuned!

I think Glee clinched a Best Comedy Emmy and a supporting nod for Dot Jones when Brittany sat down for her chat with "Santy."

It's been a long time since I've seen someone literally become a star overnight. But that's what's happening for Darren Criss. And it is much deserved. He's got a very rare quality about him, and I hope he parlays this to great success.

Coach Bieste is now my favorite character on the show.

This show was written like it was parceled out to different writers.
The Sue/Becky Grinch stuff was great. Brittany/Santa/Coach stuff was also great. I'm so glad they've broadened Becky's role. She does great as Sue's toady. I really wish they could broaden Dot Jones' character. She does good work.
The rest of it was just a mess. For example, every episode they keep mentioning how everyone hates the Glee kids. Yet they don't hate them enough to provide Rachel a band, Christmas trees, snowflakes, an auditorium, spotlights, etc when she needs to sing a cover song. In real life, if kids are hated, nobody helps them with anything.

Uh...GLEE has nothing to do with real life. One would think you would have realized that by now.
It's strictly entertainment, sometimes it hits, sometimes it misses. To complain that these things don't happen in real life, makes you seem slightly dim witted.

great episode.. and like someone mentioned... the ricki lake comment had me laughing hysterically!
and i hated how they sang for the classroom and then the teacher threw the shoe at them! i don't know... i just felt like that was just pretty stupid and pretty harsh for a teacher to do.. maybe Sue but a regular faculty member? and then only to have them sing for the teachers later? i know its the Christmas spirit and all but I would not want to go and sing for a teacher that threw a shoe at me! whatever... this show has never really been about consistent writing to begin with
and Becky needs to be in every episode!

You say dim witted, I say astute.
Glee has not been able to balance their non-singing scenes. They want us to believe the Glee kids are bullied, except when they aren't. They want us to believe in reality, except when they don't feel like making the effort to be consistent. We can accept non-reality during the songs, but they need to do a better job in their book scenes.

well I think acceptance more as a whole by the school... being stereotyped... the people in the AV Club and the jazz band... a majority of schools those people are always picked on as well... they aren't the coolest members... so yeah there is a common bond the Glee kids share with the AV Club and whatnot... but I just think they want to be accepted to the entire damn school and want to be respected even after going to Regionals and placing in sectionals... kinda like the kids from Sister Act 2! haha
You say dim witted, I say astute.
There is nothing astute about stating the obvious.

Am I wrong, or wasn't the scene you're complaining about one of those "non-reality" songs?
Yet they don't hate them enough to provide Rachel a band, Christmas trees, snowflakes, an auditorium, spotlights, etc when she needs to sing a cover song.
**serious rant**
this episode just pissed me off so much. do you have any idea how expensive a re-walk is? and it's not like they're an off-the-shelf item either... they are fit to one person. artie's wheelchair is made by colours, one of the most expensive wheelchair manufacturers there is.
perhaps glee or fox could have used them money to donate to SCI/D research.
and i'm getting really sick of the whole "artie needs to walk" thing. someone said i was just a "bitter cripple" for thinking this way, but WHY does he need to walk? there are NO shows on TV except glee where a young person in a wheelchair is one of the main characters. and it's sending the message that you need to walk in order to be a contributing member of society.
glee could be doing a great thing for SCI/D awareness and acceptance but what they show is so misleading.

You don't think the producers actually PAID for the wheelchair, do you? The fact that you recognized the manufacturer of the chair proves the value of the PR.
Do you think they actually buy the cars that the characters drive on TV shows?
