@canmark: You do realize that it was tribute to Oscar nominated musical films. All the films represented are Oscar winners. Musicals aren't just exclusive to the stage. You must have not gotten the memo. The tribute was entirely appropriate and very well done.

I'm so happy for Anne. She deserved the award for such an amazing performance.

"JHud totally deserved her Oscar win and came back 6 years later to confirm it and she blew everyone away. Second best performance tonight right behind Dame Shirley."

Aside from a few missteps (misfires?), I enjoyed the medley performance, especially the Les Mis section.

And hooray for Les Mis's three Oscars so far!

Actors have always been given more time for their speeches. Is it unfair? Of course, but not like it's anything out of the ordinary.

Addy I was thinking the same thing. Poor choice in music. Speaking of the music being used in this broadcast I could not believe they opened the show with the overture from Disney's "The Happiest Millionaire". That took me by surprise.
