I wanted to see it before and I still want to see it.
I don't think I would have paid to see it in a theater, but I was looking forward to catching on BD.
They (Sony)were going to release it for free on Sony's streaming platform(called crackle) but they realized the number of people streaming it would crash the service.
All those people who condemned Sony for caving into terrorists, I hope you’re planning to support this movie. (Me, I saw their last film, This Is the End – and that was enough for me. So many funny people in the cast, but where were the laughs?) Here’s a list of the theaters it will be playing at:
As of midday Tuesday, about 200 theaters around the country had booked the film.
* * *
Tower City Cinemas: The multiplex in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, will screen The Interview beginning on Christmas Day, and moviegoers wearing red, white and blue will receive a free 32 oz. popcorn.
Coach Bob knew it all along: you've got to get obsessed and stay obsessed. You have to keep passing the open windows. (John Irving, The Hotel New Hampshire)
Yes, and probably a mediocre buddy comedy will be a box office smash. Feeling we are being played Namo? Damn, the last time I felt I was being plyed with to this extent at least there was a happy ending.
ETA: Sony gets hacked...employees SS#s and vital information are leaked as well as rather embarressing e-mails... SUDDENLY a 9/11esque threat is made, drawing attention away from Sony's lack of internet security. How can North Korea hack into Sony using Comodore 64 style computers? Look at their propaganda pictures for Christ Sake! I am not buying a bit of this now.
Those Blocked: SueStorm. N2N Nate. Good riddence to stupid! Rad-Z, shill begone!
I was wrong about New England. Progressive Providence (or as I call it, "The Other P-Town") has a little theater showing it. For any New Englanders who want so show the mega-corporation SONY support during this difficult time.
Releasing it in a limited Christmas release? Well now I'm fascinated. I wasn't planning on seeing this (nor will I ever) but I support any movie theater that will show it anyway. INTO THE WOODS I go tomorrow.
