Whoopi is usually good about stuff like this. This baffles me.

I haven't watched the clip. Is Barbara saying anything?

Very irresponsible.

Babs wasn't there. I think the guest host is Melissa Gilbert.

jg2, when all of hollywood says that it's not a big deal and he's being oppressd, why should whoopi bother to look beyond that? she's next for the drugging and the anal raping behind debra winger. heh. behind.

I don't understand the people that are supporting this man. I hate it when people just jump on an opinion bandwagon and don't bother to think for themselves. He should be forgiven because he's an artists and paid for his crime with 45 days in jail? 45 days for the anal rape of a child? Sounds fair, right? How long did Martha serve for insider trading?

If you wish to write to ABC to complain about Whoopi's comments, as I just did, you can use this link:

abc crashes my computer. i would only go there to read my beloved jake tapper anyway. for whoopi, i'll do what i usually do: egg her house and slash her tires.

but for everyone else, use mb's link if you are as disgusted as we are!

Whoopi will regret the "rape rape" comment. For a woman with her feminist credentials to take that position is mind-boggling.

i think that a lot of people are going to regret their words and actions related to this case because i have a feeling that people will remember this longer and with more passion than anyone assumes now.

This is exactly the type of stuff the conservative media will seize upon, and in this case, I can't blame them. They'll project this 'Hollywood' mindset onto all liberals. Someone on the left needs to be a voice of reason on this.

"She should have done her homework before speaking on national TV."

Oh, but that's not what The View is about. The View is about parroting back what is whispered through your ear piece but making it look as if it's coming from your own brain. I mean, sure, Elizabeth sometimes brings a pile of papers that look as if they were created on an old dot matrix printer to represent her "research" on a topic, ("I care! I do! I looked it up on the internet!") but it's really just a prop.

The View isn't concerned, really, with informed opinions. The show is concerned with "views." That's why they have a flat-earther on the panel.

I don't think people have any memories at all about this sort of thing. Not when Jessica Simpson's dog gets carted off by coyotes. I'm sorry, what were we talking about?

I'm not condoning what he did. What he did was wrong. What he did was NOT NORMAL.

I stated in my original post that I know how to separate my admiration for his directorial efforts from the reality of the crime he has committed. I don't agree with what he did, what he did was morally wrong. No "ifs", "ands" or "buts" about it.

I just hope he gets some psychological help because he clearly has a problem. And I truly believe he hasn't paid for the crime he has committed.

I have a moral conscious. I wouldn't condone sex with a minor EVER.
