If you read ALL of my posts on this thread (which I hope you don't...it's not that big a deal; at least to me), I have made 4 posts that I was bored of the episode. I wouldn't define that as "constantly annoyed".
The "constantly annoyed" statement wasn't specifically directed at you. That wasn't clear, so I apologize. My point was that I can't really understand anyone being so bothered by anything on the show, in this case the length of the season and the emotional reactions of the queens. When it gets this close to the end, someone ALWAYS cries, especially during the childhood photos and messages from family.

Apology accepted. Do you have any insights on the Vegas show and cast reopening? I have tickets for August 26.
Probably no more than you do. I've seen a list that includes the 5 original queens, plus Aquaria, Eureka, Kim Chi, and Shea Couleé, but that's it.
This season has to be one of the absolute worst seasons in the history of this show! Kandy should have been sent home at the beginning! The person that I want to win is Gottmik and I feel that Rupaul will pick him, not only because of how talented he is, but also because what he stands for in the trans community. Rose and Simone will have to be happy with their places behind him...
I think I'd like to see Symone take the crown, but I'll be happy as long as Kandy doesn't win.
From the sound of the panel's chatter. I'd say the only one without a shot is Rose.....all the talk about her was unemotional, lacking passion and praising her professionlism.
As soon as Symone started talking about her mother, I just knew they were going to pull out a video message from her, and they did. Lol. Seemed a little too coincidental for me.
At least we now know where GottMik got her name from - her birth name, Mikayla Gottlieb.

@Stage Door Sally - is it really necessary to state Gottmik's Dead Name? There's a reason he didn't say it on the show.
Well by saying it’s based on first and last name, it creates interest in what it was. I see no problem here unless someone wants to make it a problem. It WAS her real legal name for a few decades - it’s not like giving out someone’s social security number. It’s public information on a now public person.

And he said his chosen name is Cade, and that it was after a pornstar. I wondered if it was Cade Maddox (alleged vaccine line jumper) Lol. who's not really my type, but seems to be extremely popular in the industry.

What is a "dead name"? I mean, I think I know, but that seems a little morbid to me. Please explain.

From Merriam-Webster:
the name that a transgender person was given at birth and no longer uses upon transitioning.
Many trans people will go to great lengths to prevent people from finding out their deadnames, destroying irreplaceable photos and documents in an effort to ensure that who they really are is the only identity most will remember.

Just to clarify the spelling he goes by "Kade" with a K Gottlieb.

Thanks for the info. I had never heard that phrase before. I am probably way older than you, but I just have to think how sad for the parents. I don't mean that disrespectfully. But destroying old photos and documents is way extreme to me.
Ru made a special point of saying the pix they showed during that segment was being shown WITH Gottmik's permission. (Which was a pretty nuetral pix - I'd not have know whether the baby was m or f. Perhaps why he allowed it?)
But yes, I can see that being difficult for a parent - after all it is part of who they "were".
This video breaking down the contract Queens have to sign before appearing on the show is fascinating and INSANE.

I watched that earlier in the week. It is insane! I can't see how they can hold someone under contract for the length that Bussy mentions.

Unless the individual has the money or a relative who is an attorney, the large corporation wins every time. They have the larger resources at their feet. These contestants don't see the bigger picture when they are signing away their rights and livelihood.
I guess the pros outweigh the cons for a lot of people but you really do belong to WOW once you agree to do the show. How do you plan anything in your life knowing you might have to drop everything for months at a time for the next decade or more?
I mean, sure, it seems crazy but it doesn't seem to have effected a ton of the queens who have found success after the show? Although, would we never know? Probably not.
Any word on how the finale is going to be? Taped at home? Taped in a theater with no audience? I'm assuming since the reunion is taped, it'll be the same as last year?
I’d imagine they taped the finale like the old days and UK - just on stage with all four winning and then airing the winner.
Thanks for posting C2NYC.
This explains Joe Blacks H&M look. Sad!
Joe Black had been eliminated in Episode 1, then unexpectedly brought back to replace a different contestant after the show’s mid-season seven-month COVID hiatus, but had been forced to sell all of his costumesduring lockdown. (The pandemic decimated live entertainment, including drag performances.) “I had sold them because I needed the money to live,” Joe said. “So not only did I need to find the money, but I also needed to get the costumes again.”
