I love blogs for a million different reasons. You can keep up to date with everyone easily. It's awesome when you leave town because you can still know what everyone is up to. Also, if everyone is busy and you're bored on a weekday night, reading up on your friends makes you feel happy and fills the time. You can share pictures easily, vent out your emotions (sometimes it is so nice to just write things down and it feels good to have others read it), you can quickly poll your friends on things, share documents, etc. etc. Perhaps my favorite thing is that I am keeping a record of my life. I can look back and see what day I did something or read back about how I used to be or what I did someday. When I started dating my current boyfriend, he read waaayyyyyyyyy back in my Xanga and learned all about my recent past. How would I ever get someone to know all of that, with so much detail and so much ease?

I LOVE MY XANGA!

Prisons are for dangerous people. Not people who forget to pay their taxes. I don't want my tax money feeding and housing someone who doesn't pay their taxes.

"And I resent women feeling entitled to chivalry merely because they have a vagina--I have one too sweetie and nobody gives me a seat or lets me go through the door first."

Thank you!! I have two perfectly good arms, I can open my own doors, thank you.

Another opinion: PETA is a low-level terrorist organization. There are far better ways of making your point than giving kids comic books called "Your Mommy KILLS ANIMALS!!"
That is a real example, BTW.

for the most part, homosexuals are annoying, attention whoring, shallow, wastes of time (there are always exceptions).

Abortion is a bad thing. (but shouldn't be illegal).

Time's Square should be fire bombed, bulldozed and paved over.

minorities who cry racism are usually racists themselves.

Desperate Housewives is crap except for felicity huffman.

The West Wing, even though now crap compared to it's first 4 seasons is still the best show on Television.

The Simpsons hasn't been funny for 9 years.

America should stop supporting Israel as both sides of that conflict are terrorists and there is no solution to centuries worth of conflict until people are educated that difference does not equal evilness.

People who molest children should have thier gentalia mutilated.

America is a pretty ****ty place, and only looks so good by comparison.

I have plenty of other unpopular opinions.

I knew I was hateful, but a bigot?

And I agree with you about PETA, Rose...

You're like the right-wing version of me, ZONE, but for a few exceptions...wow...that's scary...I agree with you about Israel and you're not entirely wrong about homos--are you in theatre? You must be to hold that opinion. And though not a bad idea, I doubt having mutilated genitals would deter a child molester. I'm not sure what the best solution is for that.

And I'm with ActOr on "fag," the homeless, and vets.

and it's closer to 7.5, paradox...sorry...

Why the title change?
Here's another one: Rapists and sex offenders should be castrated.

I think it's entirely unwarranted. It's not like anybody has said "round up the darkies!"...it's just a little harmless venting, and I think it should be changed back, or if it bothers whoever changed the title THAT much, then just delete the goddamn thing. Calling us all hateful bigots is far more offensive than anything any of us have said thus far...

If you don't want to hear unpopular opinions, don't start a thread titled as such. Perhaps "Innocuous Musings About Trivial Matters" might be more to your liking. These opinions are unpopular for a reason, jack hole.

I meant it was interesting in that I was curious what caused Wanna Be A Foster to think this was an appropriate title. A few pages ago he posted again, calling for the thread to be deleted, but nothing that horrible had been said to warrant this.

I have to agree with the "why change the title?" barage, which is neither unpopular nor bigoted so I guess it is a thread jack.

There have been many things posted I disagree with, but isn't that the point?

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

I clicked on the thread this morning because I was curious to see what on Earth could cause such vitriol. I was a little shocked to see that it was actually this thread - and I can't say I actually agree with the revised perspective.

Exactly. It was called "UNPOPULAR opinions" for a reason.
And I didn't mean that you were wrong, orangeskittles. It certainly is an "interesting" change.

Own a Bible on a fairly liberal state campus and being called a "hateful bigot" is less "jarring" and more "normal/expected." This certainly isn't the first time I've been called that!

Ugh, I've added a new one: people that refuse to give innocent statements to reporters. I've been on the phone for an hour trying to find someone to just give me a few answers (nothing loaded, just questions that you would ask someone of this profession, but on the record) and everyone refuses to speak with me. I would just ask as a normal person, but I'm required to tell them I'm writing for the paper and they all freak. Stupid journalistic integrity.

Because if you're still a student, I have some advice.

Get out of it, now! Run away! Save yourself!

Lildogs, I'm not right wing, at all. Infact i can't stand the conservative half of this country.

Also, yes, I am in theatre, but I'm also a homosexual, and just can't stand most of them.

Sure I am pro-life (actaul pro life, as in, against bortion and the death penalty), but I'm not for banning abortion, as frankly, if every whore who got knocked up unexpectedly carried their child to term, then the coutry would be even more overpopulated and there would be more mouths for the crappy wellfare system we have to feed, and I have to think about myself. I don't want to pay for some crackwhore's unwanted accident with my taxes.

But then again, i also believe that if you get an abortion for reasons other than because you were raped, the child is a child of incest or the pregnancy is a major health risk to the mother, that you should be sterilized.

Bring on the hate.

I just remembered another unpopular opinion I have:

Marriage should not be one's main goal in life. It's OK to never get married and people who never do are not losers who just couldn't find anybody.
