Is it official that this is the last year?....I really don't want this show to go...Please watch this season and tell everyone you know to watch as well...it's such a great show
"Now filming has begun for the eighth and final season of "Will & Grace" (8:30 p.m. EDT Thursdays) as it awaits next month's Emmycast flush with 15 nominations, including McCormack for lead actor in a comedy series (a prize he won in 2001)."

Apparently, and I'm sad.
Yeah, I think it's official. Eric McC was on Conan the other day, and when it was brought up that this was the final year, Eric said they wanted to end while the show was on top and pursue other things.
I'm sad, but glad they're quitting while they're ahead. The show was great for a while, but the last couple of seasons have dragged a bit (with the exception of the fabulous Minnie Driver). Hopefully this season will re-gain the charm and humor of the earlier years, and not slump to the finish line, a la Friends.
Ugh this is so depressing...I'm gonna miss this show so much. I personally think its the best sitcom on TV (If you count Desperate Housewives as a sitcom, then nevermind ) But this is so sad. I thought last year was witty and smart and a huge comeback from the past 2 or 3 lackluster years and yet viewers watched those so-so years but tune out when it starts to bounce back again
The last half of last season was good, but I thought the self-serving cameos from the first half (J.Lo? Janet? ) were too excessive.
And here's to hoping Minnie comes back!
I think they are being very smart...the last couple of seasons have been mean-spirited and lackluster. Hopefully, they will push the envelope a little bit seeing it's their last.
Agreed, Tiff.
And I think I'm the only person who enjoys the cameos from celebs on W&G...all these magazines etc make fun of the show all the time for it but I think that they are given parts that are ironic, interesting, and wonderfully over-the-top.

Mean spirited??
This show should have been called "Jack and Karen". They are the only reason I ever tune in to watch.
I want a spinoff...maybe called 'JUST JACK (and Karen)' LOL!

I could not agree more.
Jack and Karen together make the show.
Will and Grace together has gotten old and too dramatical for a comedy.
Same thing happened with Friends.
I think things started going down hill when Harry Connick Jr. came on for that exact reason.
But then again, I think too much Jack and Karen would eventually get old. There's a nice balance here, for Eric and Debra to be the straight-men (so to speak) to Sean and Megan.
I used to watch the show religiously, but I stopped a couple of years ago...Dropped it cold when Harry Connick, Jr. joined the cast. It just didn't cut it for me anymore. I've caught bits and pieces of a couple of episodes recently and Debra Messing just irritated the hell out of me.
Jack and Karen rule my world! The two funniest characters on TV, IMO. Much love for Megan and Sean!
Tiff, you posted as I was typing...great minds think alike. HCJr was a terrible addition!
I agree with Borstal boy - though I believe it's been mean-spirited from the beginning. Its time to make room for some refreshing new television.
The sad thing is I've seen interviews with HCJr when he was hyping the show or a CD or whatever, and he seems like a pretty funny guy in real life! I don't know how that didn't translate on screen. It doesn't help that they introduced him as being unfunny and boring (remember that episode when they were playing tennis and Karen didn't like him because, "He don't make me laugh."?), and so he was...unfunny and boring.
HCJr, IMO, was fine on the show.
It was the whole divorce, get back together, meet on the roof of the building, etc. crap that ruined the show.

OMG YES QAF and Q&G going out within a year of each other. Sweet. Now, let's see if we can get some geniune and positive gay shows on the air instead of these stereotypical **** fests.
Oh, joy, another "Let's Bash W&G Thread". THAT hasn't been done before.
Blech...sounds like I didn't miss much.
I think it's really tough for sitcoms to integrate big shifts in focus like that...adding a new full-time character as a husband or whatever. It's kind of like when shows add a baby into the storyline or something. Either it gets annoying and shmaltzy (sp?) or they realize it's not working and the baby conveniently disappears. I can't think of specific examples, but I know it's happened!
Well, for one example, either Emma conveniently disappeared, or Rachel and Ross were two deadbeat parents!
Beav, what scene was that avatar from?
I've never watched an episode of Friends, but thanks...that'll work, Tiff!
