Hey Jamie. Haven't seen you much. Come back!

Amanda, great points. This would make a great physiological psych report.

I really don't like ALW musical. Have you seen the sit-com Nanny? The way Maxwell Shefield (Charles Shonessy sp?) says his name all the time, that is exactly my opinion as well.

I can scream when I hear only one line from POTO or Evita, really.

Thank good the week is over. I worked 10 hours yesterday - I arrived home at 7.30pm and I went to a party at 8pm and stayed there to 11pm. It was fun...I laughed so much that my cheek bone hurt...funny feeling.

I'll be here for the matinee cam, that is for sure...oh, Greg said that his favorite song was All the things you are from Jerome Kern, and I downloaded that song but not the original. It was only the score played by a very big orchestra and I sent it to Greg to listen to it. And he loved it. God, I am so nice The *Official* Greg Jbara Love Thread

Sounds good, Jamie.

Oh, I will not be here tomorrow for the afternoon cam. My family and I were supposed to be seeing Spamalot Tuesday with tickets we won from Ebay. I went to check them today to see where we are sitting and all three tickets read: Saturday Feb 11th at 2PM. So....off we are tomorrow to see Spamalot! I should be back in time for the night cam however.

Woohoo my animation prof likes my "Chimp In A Suit" idea for my semester project. It's storyboarded and timed, now I just need a solid chimp design and I can start animating in 2 weeks. Hopefully I'll have something good to post here at the end of the semester. Also I'm trying to find clever ways to stick DRS references in it (i.e. The chimp wears Andre/Freddy/Ruprecht's clothes in different shots, and I'm trying to design a Sherie/Christine type woman).

Let's hope it doesn't look like crap so I'll be able to show it to Greg without feeling ashamed heh.

Jamie! Mamie! ha-ha, that rhymes! (I really need to start getting more sleep...) Anyway, we miss ya, Mamie you're always welcome and we love it when you post like lurking The *Official* Greg Jbara Love Thread And yaay for break Jamie, a bit time to catch up on BWW?

Dre, you're schedule calms down a bit soon right? You've been a busy bee lately, remember mental health comes before anything else

Ah well, Mary, guess you and I are the only ones cool enough to be big fans of both Greg Jbara and Andrew Lloyd Webber(yeah I'm half here so sorry if I forgot anyone, will edit after a long night's rest)

And poop for the weather. I was supposed to see Charlie and the Chocolate factory musical at NJPAC tomorrow/today but my mom said we're def not going! Not an everyday oppertunity, kinda upset.

Got Kiss Me Kate from the library again, 4 years makes big difference, I enjoyed it so much more now than I did when I initially watched it. And Rachel once again plays a character completely different than any I have seen her play, again makes you feel like you can't be watching the same performer, and hits stunning soprano notes. She seems to have one heck of a range, she can go high for soprano, belt, and make the lower notes eargasmic.

"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

Alright, quick review since I have to leave soon for the concert (eek!).

There was more than 20 songs, so instead of doing it by song, I'll do it by musical.

The singers with Liz Callaway, John Cudia, Michael K. Lee, Alice Ripley, Max Von Essen, and Kathy Voytko.

I felt through the whole thing that the best part of this was the orchestra. The singers were alright.

In the beginning the orch. did The Jellicle Ball from Cats, and then it launched into Jesus Christ Superstar. The first song was sung by the Michael guy and he wasn't loud enough or something, there were sound problems throughout the night. Anyways, wasn't impressed by him. Then Liz sang, it was alright.. but she had huge breath support problems. Last, John sang Gethsemane and was amazing. He was my favorite all night.

They did songs from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat next. I didn't like any of them.

Song & Dance was pretty good, it was just Kathy singing Unexpected Song.

For The Beautiful Game, the orch. played the oveture and was fabulous.

The Woman in White was next. I was superly dissapointed they didn't do All For Laura, but instead I Believe My Heart and Evermore Without You.

Thankfully, they only did one song from Cats.. I think you'll be able to guess which one. So, although Memory is totally overdone (I sang it for an audition a few years ago and bombed horribly), I was impressed with Liz Callaway. She was still not breathing correctly all the way.

For Aspects of Love the orch. played again.. they were the only thing that was consistently great.

Max and Michael sang Starlight Express, and I really wanted to sleep.

So, just when I'm tired, they do Whistle Down the Wind and I have trouble keeping my eyes awake. I guess I was waiting for something big.

Act 2 started off with Sunset Boulevard and I semi liked it.

Next off was Evita, which although they sang 3 songs, only Don't Cry for Me Argentina was good. Alice Ripley was great. On And the Money Kept Rolling In they were having yet even more sound problems.

Finally, the moment of the night everyone was waiting for-- The Phantom of the Opera. It made everyone wake up. The curtain shut immediately and the white phantom mask appeared on it. The overture started off amazingly, but we couldn't decide whether or not the orch. was playing it or not, since the curtain was done. It sounded exactly like the soundtrack. Then, the curtain opened and the stage was filled with fog as John and Kathy did Phantom. John has played the Phantom and it showed. He was outstanding. Kathy on the other hand was not getting enough air and was too vibrato on some parts. At the end, she hit all of the notes spot on but the mic wasn't picking it up. They did a few more songs of Phantom (All I Ask of You was fantastic) and then John did the Music of the Night which was by far my favorite song.

For the finale, they all got up and sang Love Changes Everything.

So all in all, it wasn't bad. I wouldn't go running out to see it, but since I was stuck with it- I wasn't dissapointed.

Alright- it's concert time!

[/End Amanda-esque post]

Oooh I love Alice Ripley and Liz Callaway...lucky girl.

So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.
