thanks I have found it on an italian page today and saved immediately...do the same.
Yay! I'm happy that I'm off work for the Weds cam again. I've spent all day in front of the computer (again) searching for a real job. Stupid liberal arts degrees!

I am sorry Liz, it took me almost four month to find a normal job...so just be optimistic.
It's been 6+ months for me, but a lot of that time was spent trying to figure out an approximate idea of what I wanted to do. Now my problem is I don't have quite the right background for the type of work I want to do. My education is in US media and democracy, but I want to work in international democracy and governance development. So I'm having a bit of trouble getting my foot in the door!
PS: Primate au Poivre? I don't think I'd like peppered chimp!
Thank you, Cat. I feel like I'm having my 15 minutes of fame!
(Great icon Liz. How could you go wrong with that pic?)

my situation was kinda same because I have learnt communication, media and mediainformatics at the university, thank god that I already had profession at secondary scool, page designer. So I am a printer now. Life is pretty hard.
Haha sounds fun Mamie....It really is a great idea for a thread.
Yeah...it doesn't help that my boyfriend and all of his friends have super-successful careers in international relations, security studies, international development etc......I'm starting to feel very inadequate compared to them.
Ugh, I should stop with the public moping. Sorry all!

no...no, it's okay, do not apologise! And don't try to compare yourself with realtives who had better jobs or career because you are going to go crazy and this won't help anyway.
I did the same and guess what I became a little depressed but this thread and its gregheads always helped me laugh.
I'm just frustated that they all had an easy time starting their careers right out of grad school, and I'm having such trouble. Also, they all get to travel all over the world (boyfriend is going to either Kenya or Singapore in the next months, friend is leaving for Mozambique next week, another went all over the South Pacific, another goes to Belgium every other month), so I'm just insanely jealous.
Wow, there aren't many people chatting here today!
*Hugs 2 and 1/2 years of college left*
Yeah, appreciate college while you're in it!! If I could go back I would do a lot of things differently. I wouldn't give up my musical theater major for one.

wow...Greg with stockings...I hope he won't strangle anyone.
My dad FINALLY moved out this morning! Yaay! God, it's about time.
So he took the PC I'm usually on, and the wireless in our house hasn't been working, so hopefully very soon we'll move the other computer into the DSL connection, or I could figure out how to hook the labtop up to a DSL cable, or wireless will start working. I'm at my college library now...I can't go too long w/o the Internet, I'll be in BWW withdrawal!
Congrats Mamie! I shrieked when I saw it was you! What I really like about this is whether or not they're the first acknowledged, it gives lots of ppl on BWW a chance to be acknowledged and get appreciation and stuff, b/c there are a lot of BWWers who deservedly get a lot of praise and love threads and such but yeah, I really like that thread.
Annie, I totally agree, I was talking about that w/ my friend last night when I was pissed...especially on bway, to really call anyone a "star" isn't proper--everyone works equally hard, the ensemble, the pit, the crew, etc, and I do think that most theatre actors are proud to be part of a team/family and don't need to be called stars...my point wasn't so much that the term "stars" was used as just 4 out of the 5/6 were mentioned and I honestly had not ever heard of that w/ DRS, you know? But I'm feelng better about it...b/c I'm having a great day...b/c my dad's gone!! Celebrate! (Did some dancing movement here in the library...just got some strange looks...oh well)
Aww sorry about last night Cat, that really sucks that you waited and couldn't get in, but obviously they couldn't sign forever. That's great that you got a voucher for a signed CD, well deserved! Any other thoughts on Wicked? And ITA about Derrick.
Ali don't feel ashamed I forgot it was cam day too!
And I missed saturday- but I was away in London so I have an excuse and today... well just call it crazy start of term week!
Hey Greg and everyone else though!

Amanda - something wrong with your avatar, I only can see an "x" instead of Gary.
Oh Annie... (It's Gerry).
Okay, I see an X too, I didn't know if it was just this computer or not. When I get a home computer up and running, I'll fix it.
Hahaha, on the celebrity thread, it was said that apparently this is the thread where Mamie "lets her hair down"

yes, yes, yes...I wanted to type Gerry, I swear...so sorrrrry. **said face** **hitting head with the left hand - right hand hold a spoon**

Hmm...thoughts on Wicked...
I'd like to preface with the fact i really know nothing about theater, acting or singing
I'm a fan of Shoshana but I have to admit liking Eden better on all fronts, Her tone of voice didn't have the same tendency to get nasal, and I missed Sho's riffs but Eden more than made up for it with her crazy belting and she switched a few notes up to make things fun. Acting wise she played the character different, more snotty and petulant, which really worked and she seemed to have made a big transition by the end. On an odd side note, she seemed to pronounce the word Gravity really oddly, distractingly oddly, that may just be me being insane though.
I adored Derrick Williams, David Ayers was the only Fiyro I'd seen and I always thought he was adequate, but I had no idea what I was missing. Derrick's voice was amazing and he never shirked from a note, plus he was fun and sexy and really gave Fiyero a personality.
I also liked Carol Kane a lot more than I thought I would, obviously her singing couldn't touch Shelley's, but she played the part rather ditzy and airy and comically she was just brilliant which shouldn't be a suprise considering everythig shes been in.
I was not thrilled with the new Nessa,Christy Candler, her voice was really rather weak IMO, sometimes I judge things too critically on the first listen though so maybe I'm crazy. However, she really acted the hell out of Wicked Witch of the East, and she certainly never detracted from the show, but I did miss Federer. Personally, I sort of feel like Christy is just filler until they can get Jenna Leigh Green in the part on Bway.
Hiltys been in for awhile but this was my first time seeing her, I thought she was adorable obviously, she hit every note beautifully, but I did miss JLT in this part and thought she was a bit better delivering lines. Hilty did have a cute little character habbit of saying ohhh in a warbly voice which she used a couple of times in popular when reacting to things and she made it her own.
Hmm...who else...
Hearn...well...he was a year old than the last time I saw him.
Rob sapp as Boq was great, it was nice to see a young looking Boq, and he hit all his notes, landed the jokes...not much to say about Boq sadly.
Still an endlessly enjoyable show, but it did lose its magic a little bit for the 3rd time I've seen it, I think I'm a bit past my Wicked stage. My sister however is full on in her Wicked stage and sat wide-eyed teary and grinning through the whole show. On the train home she turned to me and said, I just realized the lion Boq was talking about was the Cowardly Lion! And lets face it I won't be able to resist going back the next time the cast changes, its inevitable...
I definetly recommend partial view seats if you've seen the show.
Annnd I blame the long post on Amanda.

**and calls everyone up to help you hit me**
Ick, I abhor violence. I will not help hit Annie.
Great review BlueCat on Wicked. The new cast is great but still missing the spark the old cast had that drew me to see them five times. Eden is worth the price alone. Derrick was great as Fiyero but he was rather stilted when I saw him, no doubt because he was still settling in. I will continue to say that David Ayers, of all the Fiyero, is still my favorite. Yes, the Norbert nut that I am perfers David in the role. I realize his voice was nowhere near the strongest (who can ever top Norbert honestly), but he just had the persona, the acting, and personality that worked for the character. Its probably because I have read the book five times and felt David matched the character better than the others. Just my personal opinion.
Shoot! I missed the afternoon cam but I am here for the nighter.
