I can't stand this sleazebag! She is the one-woman Vivid of tragedy porn. Hate her! Hate her!
ditto!!! to the tenth power
Interesting....I've never watched her show, but in the last week I have heard a few people mention either that they loved it or hated it. It is interesting how before this week, I never really heard people mention her. Do you mind me asking why in particular you hate her/the show?
Edit - And, no I don't work for the show, channel, or anything. I just realized that my above post could look that way.
I just died a little inside.
I love her.
She makes everything so overdramatic that you just have to laugh and not care anymore. and her persona never changes. she is a one-note "reporter" she thinks the man is always guilty, and she wears her "heart" on her sleeve all the time, and it is tired.
and she will ask a question to her interviewee, he or she gets out 4 words, then she interrupts and argues with them.
she's very annoying and that's why I don't like her.
I think she is ok. I don't love her, but I certainly don't hate her. She is passionate, so I respect that. Also, I have seen a few drag queens do her well, and I know she has been a good sport about it.
She owns the fact that she is emotional and biased since both her boyfriend and one of her best friend's wives was murdered.
She's not always right, but she is vocal about victim's rights, and having worked in crime victim advocacy, I respect her. Like many in that field, you need to be a big mouth and annoying otherwise you get no attention from lawyers, prosecutors, or the government.
True Bettyboy, BUT this woman is ready to "FIRE UP! old Sparky" at the drop of a hat
come join the gang at nancy's place where every day is 9/11...
I never watch her. Is it true that Nancy only gets upset about tragedies that befall blond girls?
Nancy Grace is an emotional vampire. She takes people who have experienced a tragedy and SUCKS THEM DRY.
For all her harping about murder victims, she now can claim responsibility for one death.
Most people on TV are emotional vampires, IMO including Oprah, who exploit others stories on their programs, open up wounds, etc and provide no follow-up. Nancy Grace is just singled out because she is loud.
I have never had anyone I loved murdered, so I won't comment on the appropriateness of how she behaves. She has no tolerance for violent crime. I think there are worse positions to hold. Yes, she's a loud mouth.
Also, her involvement with Duckett's suicide is circumstancial. I work in mental health-IMO such an interaction would not alone push someone to suicide. Nancy was pretty much telling Duckett to pull it together since what Duckett was offering was incoherent and not helpful to those trying to find her son. It was the verbal equivalent of a good shake or a slap in the face. Words have little power in either making someone commit or not commit suicide. Those are intensely personal decisions. Nancy should not be held accountable for Duckett's death.
Yes, she is all for victims and their rights and yes she is very committed to what she believes in. But that doesn't give her the ok to treat some of her guests as she does. Yelling before they even get a sentence out, speaking as if she is the most reliable source no matter the topic. Last night she was pretty much off on the subject of antipsychotic medications and what they do, how they work, but that didn't stop her from telling her guest he was wrong and yelling at him five words into his reply.
I'd rather watch Star Jones. And I hate Star Jones.

I just want to smack her back to whatever hellhole in the South she crawled out of.
Talk about opportunistic journalism........
HATE HER!
I like Stephen's piece. It has a humane and earthy quality. However, I still stand by the psychology of it and step back from King's emotional reaction. Nancy Grace in one short interaction IMO could not have pushed someone to suicide. I am pretty tired of that conclusion. Even if Grace was the last drop in the bucket or the straw the broke the camel's back, she did not create a situation where someone's life was so bad that they needed to end it. Duckett was in a lot of emotional pain that Nancy Grace does not have the power to cause in one short interview. I am not saying Nancy is a nice lady or does she practice proper etiquette, but she did not cause a woman's death.
The thing that bothers me the most about shows like Nancy Grace's is that they're not really about analyzing or discussing the issues that are brought up on the show. It's all very "you're guilty" and "you're bad" and so on and so on. You can say that Oprah uses her guests, but is Oprah helping to make America a more close minded, less thoughtful place? Overall, I'd say no.
Didn't Keith Olbermann claim that Grace lied about the details of her fiance's death?
I'm in love with her insanity. Sorry Bill O'reilly, I had to switch.
So was Carrie White, "Eve was weak...say it woman!"
If I could just plug Nancy Grace's mouth up.
You know she would chew through any gag and the venom in her mouth would melt anything trying to block her windpipe.
