I didn't mean for it to come off that way. There's certainly no "blood in the streets." I didn't mean there's anything wrong with watching the filming if you're into that. But if trying to articulate my point is going to get me accused of drawing blood, then nevermind, because that's definitely not what I was trying to do.
I would like to watch the filming if it were at a location relatively close to where I live. But, I don't know, I'm a film nerd, so maybe it's not for everyone!
The morning star always gets wonderful bright the minute before it has to go --doesn't it?
Heh. Raúl's creepy character is already affecting us. It's like "ohmigod! we're his next victims! aaahhhhhh!!!!!"
I've been on (and been inconvenienced by) too many film sets to really find the experience enjoyable anymore. But it can be a fascinating process to watch, especially if you have a gifted director. It's so very different from the theatre.
I've never understood how they can film out of sequence. You have to have a really good idea of your character arc to film the ending before the beginning.
A couple of years ago my office window overlooked the plaza in front of the Seagrams Building (COMPANY, anyone?) and I watched as a film crew worked for eight hours on a scene that took exactly 75 seconds in the film!
Apropos of nothing really, I'm listening to Euan Morton sing "Why God Why?" from Miss Saigon (a really bad version in a bar tonight prompted me to listen to a good one), and I can't help but think how much I want to hear Raul sing this. It's such a Raul song.
I have a deep affection for Miss Saigon. It's a score that I think Raul would be able to channel a lot of his pathos into.
Now, mother always said that whenever you hear a strange, frightening, and potentially life-threatening ghostly chant coming from the dark woods that there's one thing that you should do: Not wake the others and go investigate it alone...

OK, I just looked and the video is still there, although I went through a search and not the link I posted above. I'll post the (new) link again in case they changed it.
And if you still can't get it to work, PM me.
ETA: I just checked the first link again and it's working. I think TheSite was just constipated for a few minutes.
I translated it for emcee, but in case anyone else is interested, here's what he said in Spanish:
"Let me get this thing up [the mike] Ok, well, I'm gonna start in Spanish for awhile because although my career has specifically been in American theater, in the city of Chicago, and here as well, I started by speaking Spanish, and when I was 5 is when I learned to speak English. I also started acting in Spanish, as well. And it's an enormous honor to receive an award that has specifically been dedicated to help our latinos here in this country, cause we need all the help we can get. This is a country that has a series of extraordinary stereotypes, in terms of what it means to be latino. They treat us like a [I can't understand that word he says. I think it's "runga", which means a guerrilla] of imbeciles, basically, or [a series of words I can't make out. I think he says "marimberos" and "malcriados"], or drug addicts, and they never give us the opportunity, particularly in Hollywood, to make the type of work we know we can make. That was my experience growing up in Miami, those have been my experiences trying to find work as a latino actor, but, it has NOT been my experience here in New York, thank God."
With that, he just made my list of the awesomest people ever :)
