re: The Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' thread, part four

If you watch the second part of the Meet the 2008 Tony Nominees interview with the sound off, you can completely see how he could play a serial killer. He totally cracks out the crazy eyes and intense facial expressions for that interview.

lol, I was watching Grill week on the Food Network last night, and one of the shows was a bbq contest. Contestants could either bbq ribs or "the whole hog." I couldn't help but laugh.

I know this is random but it's so wierd. Seeing the new york phil concert the other night really made me miss watching Raul on stage. I can't believe before the concert, it had been five months since I'd seen him on stage. That is just tooooo long. And now I'm gonna be moving away. The idea of not being able to see Raul on broadway anymore is really hard to grasp. I keep getting excited about Leap of Faith, then really sad cause I don't think I am gonna get to see it. I miss him. As fangirly as that is...

Random but I was looking on Netflix to see if there were any movies I wanted to watch tonight under their "Watch instantly" category, and under new movies PBS Company was listed. I was like wait I know that face!

Does this link work? Rauly is being completely adorkable in Part IV (from 3:04) talking about how he will get ready for the Tonys. I've only watched this clip, he might be in some of the others too.

Awww, that was so cute! (And no, he’s not in any of the other videos. re: The Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' thread, part four

How will you get red carpet ready?

Those pictures are beautiful! Now THAT is my kind of nerd. I swear he looks younger.

...And I'm moving to Dublin, so there will be few NYC visits in my future for the next two years.

A bit more information about the serial killer, from the message board on the IMDb page:

"Anyways, we know a few things about the killer. He's said to be possessed, or suffers from multiple personalities. He hears the voice of a demon that commands him to kill. He is also trying to keep this "dark side" from his family, leading him to live a double life as a family man and serial killer."

That can be taken a lot of ways. It could just be backstory told in flashbacks, because the killer is supposed to have been dead for 15 years. But there's some speculation that he escaped his execution and has been hiding ever since. Or there's another possibility - the killer has been dead for 15 years and it's spirit is possessing this family man.

Any way you look at it, it's gonna be gruesome. re: The Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' thread, part four

I'm reluctant to trust anything on IMDB, but the more I read, the more I think I might have to pass on this one. I can do gruesome and gory, but I can't do creepy/scary/nightmare inducing.

Hmm... As a psychiatric counselor, the whole "multiple personality disorder" thing in movies gets my hackles up. I can suspend my disbelief for zombie Raul, but I'm hoping they portray it as possession as opposed to mental illness.

Can't wait for the movie, it's sure to be the best thing since sliced bread re: The Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' thread, part four

Anyway, so I think that character analysis is actually taken from the character breakdown that was posted a couple of months ago:

Abel Plenkov: Seen first in flashback, he's a meticulous, powerfully built family man of 33 who is battling to cope with a multiple personality disorder. A devoted husband and father, Abel is terrified when a malevolent entity starts controlling his thoughts and actions. Struggle though he may, he ultimately succumbs to the ghastly impulses that are driving him. Lead.

I'm sorry, I think Raúl is gorgeous just the way he is, but... "powerfully built?"

It sounds like he's possessed, then. I figured that was the more likely, since this is going to be like, horror film cliché-ville. re: The Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' thread, part four
