I am wayyyy too busy to list a schedule and a list of extra curriculars.
THATS how busy I am.
I award myself a "completely stressed out" award.
Well, I'm only a freshman, so I can't compare to the seniors, but:
Classes:
Geometry (Extended)
Biology
Spanish (Year 5)
Latin (Year 3)
20th Century History
English 9 (right now it's Middle English)
Health
Drama
I go to a super intense all-girls school so the work is always abundant.
Extracurriculars:
Chorus
Voice Lessons
Orchestra (Cello)
A Capella
Drama Club
Improv Club
Debate
Cryptography
About to start the musical
Saturdays I have Acting/Voice/Modern Dance classes
There's more, but that's the basic stuff.
Well lets see... I do Running Start and so I go to the community college and take a full load of classes... oi.
So, on top of that:
Pricate Voice Lessons
College Applications
Preparation for College Auditions
A Christmas Show (rehearsals)
Getting Ready to Audition for My Next Show
Editor in Chief of the School Newspaper
Going to NYC in a couple of days
Plus life in general... it gets incredibly hectic, even though my list isn't quite as long.
Me.

I have to learn the Messiah to perform it Dec 7 and 8 and I have rehearsal for that once a week. How is that gonna be pulled off.
Auditions are next friday and every theatre major is stressing majorly about them. I just changed one of my monologues so i'm under even more of a crunch. I have papers due in everything. I have a Thea 114a midterm on monday. I have a job interview. A Performance major meeting on the 4th.
I have guy problems too. ahhhh
I promised friends of mine i'd go see them in their shows that are all opening very soon and I don't know how i'm getting to them.
Mandi--having graduated from IB, I would maintain that junior and sophomore years are MUCH worse than senior year. TOK alone made me want to kill myself.
oh boy, let's see. my senior year courses are pretty light and easy to deal with (minus my french class because the teacher is just horrid). outside of school i'm in rehearsals for a christmas carol at my community theatre in a lead role, mrs. cratchit, which opens in about two weeks. i have private voice lessons twice a week, preparing 2 pieces for solo mpa which is also in about two weeks, preparing 4 other songs for college auditions, filling out college applications and writing essays, re-memorizing the 12 songs for disney's candlelight, helping my mother clean up our house to get ready to sell, i'm getting ready for auditions for an upcoming show, working a small job at my community theatre so i can afford all of my senior expenses, and just life in general. then throw in being president of my choir and show choir, vice president of my drama club and its troupe, and secretary for french honor society. stressed doesn't even begin to describe how i'm feeling on a daily basis. thankfully things are going to calm down a lot next semester.
Class schedule:
French 5
Drama
Symphonic (Advanced) Band
Participation in Government (honors)
AP Psychology
After school job
College applications
Writing college essays
marching band
preparing for college auditions
dance classes (when I can squeeze them in)
And starting tomorrow, I have to learn all of my band's music on tenor sax (for a performance in a few days). I started out on flute, was switched to alto sax, and am getting switched again.
I'm still in TOK right now, and so our TOK essay, presentation, historical investigation, extended essay, and various other external assessments are all due within the next month. It's insane.
Gross...that sounds like junior year. But I went to one of those crazy schools that had a 4 year IB program--2 years of pre-IB and 2 years of actual IB.
The worst thing about senior year (besides tests) was preparing for the oral half of the English test.
On the plus side, college will be a breeze for you! I haven't had any classes yet that are half as challenging as TOK was.
What is IB?
International Baccalaureate. Or hell on Earth. Take your pick
Yikes.
They offer IB at my school. Do you think it's worth it?
I would say so. Made high school rather hellish, but I came out with equivalent credit for almost all of my college gen eds.
It really depends on your work ethic. I have none, so I spent every other semester on academic probation. However, there was a girl in my class who was co-valedictorian (my class had 12, 11 of those IB students and all with 4.0s), did ballet, did choir, and played 3 sports. It just depends on how much work you are willing to put in.

IB is definitely worth it. A girl who graduated last year got to enter Georgetown as a sophomore because she graduated with an IB diploma. And if you are a slacker, like me, but you stay a full diploma canidate, you can get into good schools and get some credits, even if you average is like mid to low 80's.
Just...expect to have a few breakdowns along the way. ![]()
