Bernie also claimed that having a SuperPAC is disqualifying.  That disqualifies Obama.

And this gun thing, this gun thing, this gun thing...

Why is it okay in Bernie's view to dismantle the banking industry but not the gun industry? He told Anderson Cooper, "What you're really talking about is ending gun manufacturing in America. I don't agree with that."

Are banks so much worse than guns? Are guns so much better than banks?

Why does Bernie want to protect the gun industry at all? Why can't he be as tough on gunmakers as he wants to be on bankers?

I don't get Bernie's gun thing. And I don't get why you people give him such a pass on the gun thing. Just because he presses some magical income-inequality button?

It should be noted, on the whole dreaded Iraq War vote, that Sanders may not have voted for THAT Middle Eastern disaster, but he did vote for the invasion of Afghanistan- an invasion which did not leave behind a thriving democratic state, or usher in more stability in the region, or destroy al-Qaeda or the Taliban, and an invasion that saw thousands of civilians killed. The Afgan invasion was no success. But Sanders did vote for it, as was politically expedient at the time to do so.

After all these months, Sanders still doesn't have anything other than SuperPACs and Iraq in his arsenal.  And with his deficiencies in foreign policy, it's laughable for him to call HRC unqualified.  She is, by far, the most qualified candidate in my adult lifetime (voting since 1980).

It's politics-as-usual... you know, the thing Sanders is supposed to be above.

I personally think Bernie is coming off as a bit desparate and lacking discipline.

I think he is going to get trounced in NY.  I would not be surprised if the polling shifts in the next few days to a broader gap.

I could be wrong, but I think the last couple of days have been a tipping point - betweek lack of message discipline by his surrogates (which he will not disavow), the awful NYDN interview, and now what appears to be an outburst over-reacting to a headline, he does not look ready for prime time.  Bernie's core message is important, but the details matter, and he is not great with them.

I also think the down ticket effects, as demonstrated in Wisconsin, are going to cause many democrats to rethink their support.

Sanders- who is only running as a Democratic out of expedience- has been nothing but non-committal about his support of Dem candidates in downticket elections, and the party as a whole (and I am being generous with "non-committal"- he has often shown outright disdain, and not in the distant past, either). When asked if you will be supporting Democratic candidates in their attempt to take Congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislature seats back from the GOP, you cannot say "we'll see." The President is not only the leader of the country but the leader of their party- and, frankly, Sanders has shown no interest in the latter. Which is shocking, since he will be getting very little done without more Democrats in Congress and in state positions. He is happy to ride the Democrat gravy train, but only when it suits him. Viva la revolucion or whatever.

I am genuinely upset about what Bernie has been doing this week.  I really admire how much he has inspired a younger electorate and brought them into the political process.  That should be celebrated.  I agree with virtually all of his platforms and proposals.  He has every right to fight like hell for the nomination.  But, he's losing me on tactics this week.

I understand that, by essentially avoiding giving a direct answer to Morning Joe about whether or not Bernie was qualified for President, Hillary was insinuating that he might not be.  But she didn't explicitly say the words "Bernie Sanders is not qualified to be President".  And, I know that might seem like a pedantic split-hair argument, but in an election, there is a profound difference between those two approaches.

I guarantee you that, later this summer, in the heat of the general, there will be anti-Hillary ads running with video of Bernie saying "Hillary Clinton is not qualified to be President".

Now Sanders is blaming the media and saying that the headlines that said Hillary had called him unqualified (WHEN SHE HADN'T) forced him to fire back.

He now has turned into another 6-year-old like Donald Trump, saying "But SHE did it first!"

"So when, you have headlines in the Washington Post--'Clinton questions whether Sanders is qualified to be president'--my response is well, you know, if you want to question my qualifications, let me suggest this!...she has attacked me for being unqualified. And if I am going to attack [sic] for being 'unqualified' I will respond in kind."

EXCEPT SHE DIDN'T ATTACK YOU!

Yikes. It's increasingly unclear why the campaign has Bill campaign much at all anymore. That said, they aren't the same person, so it's not necessarily on her, but that's not good.

It's called political trade-craft which Hillary honed years ago.  Sanders has unwittingly given the GOP another stick with which to beat Hillary over the head in the general election.  He's always held the Democratic party in contempt so why should now be any different.  As a non-Democrat, I'd never had any reason to support him anyway.

I'm sensing that neither party will survive the general election intact.  The Tea Party, religious right, and Trumpistas have seized control of the GOP shutting out the Establishment.  Democratic interloper Bernie Sanders is hell bent on transforming the USA into a socialist paragon.  Good luck with that, btw.  I don't dislike Sanders, but as a Libertarian I question why he never bothered to organize a national democratic socialist party to advance his agenda.  And like PalJoey, I just don't get Sanders' rigid dichotomy between lenders and gun manufacturers with respect to product liability.

I've come up with labels for the leading contenders for the White House in 2016.

Trump: Corporate Fascist

Cruz: Pseudo-Christo Fascist

Hillary: Democratic Pragmatist

Sanders: Democratic Socialist
