Are you Lin Manuel Miranda? ![]()
Today, Danny Burstein is departing his Tony-winning role of Harold Zidler! Words cannot describe how sad I am that he's leaving a role that we all have come to know and love. I have had the privilege of being in his presence and it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see him in the many roles he has played As they always say, the show must go on. It won't be the same without him. I am so excited though on what lies ahead for him and cannot wait to see him on stage again in the future!

I was lucky enough to see him as Zidler in November. He was hilarious. So warm and funny. Both him and Aaron Tveit have devoted so many years of their lives to this show.
Streaming the final performance of Clyde’s right now. Very happy they opened up accessibility for this, even for someone like me, who just planned poorly and didn’t get to see this live in person.

I'm not crying, you are! Today at the curtain call for Moulin Rouge, the cast presents Danny Burstein with a check they all contributed to, for $10,000 to the ALS Project in honor of the beautiful Rebecca Luker. Danny was crying, Aaron was crying, Robyn was crying... The love the cast and community has for Danny Burstein is truly a sight to behold. Happy trails, indeed.

Literally, EVERY song at Aint Too Proud tonight got a standing ovation. The cast was singing and dancing their hearts out and their energy was insane. All of those guys are wonderfully talented. And literally, house lights went down and the whole audience got to their feet cheering and then stayed that way through the opening. Then almost every number got a standing o. It was a really special night and that cast was giving it their all!

This is wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
After these four closures, Broadway has just 22 shows left playing.

Two of the ensemble members from Moulin Rouge left the Broadway cast last night and are joining the touring company. I was surprised at that - I've always thought that being on Broadway was a performer's ultimate goal. Is taking a part in the touring company considered a step back?

Perhaps they are ensemble members who are "moving up" to take roles on tours they are currently understudying on Broadway- or otherwise "moving up" within the production.
Any video from the Moulin Rouge curtain call? I would love to see Danny honored in that way, just incredible

Just 22 show left playing.
22 is a lot of shows playing considering the times we are in
shows open, shows close. It is what it is. That’s Broadway, baby!

You can actually make more money on tour given that most people will sublet out their places and not paying rent. Therefore, they can save a ton, etc. And something like Moulin Rouge doing really long sitdowns places, its a great gig!
