First), The Drfters Girl, the rumored Cabaret transfer (thought we would have heard something more by now) and my personal fave - the Chichester Crazy for You. And since it’s been a few years out now - and I light of unfortunate recent events - I’d love to see a big splashy Grease revival. No matter how often it plays, it’s a guaranteed crowd pleaser and popular ticket. Find the right rotating cast of popular young leads, give us some splashy new production values, and start ringing the cash registers. It’s one of the shows that man folks just never tire of."
I've heard they're just finalizing details for the Cabaret transfer and it's slated for the Hudson (Since Merrily is delayed). I've also heard that Life of Pi is going into the Schoenfeld in the spring following the A.R.T. run."
If it's Hudson, then I suppose Cabaret can't be spring next year then given that Salesman is on till January. Doubt they'd be willing to(or be foolish to) forego reconditioning the theater into the Kit Kat.
"
Les Mis finished performances at the Imperial 9/4/16 and Great Comet started previews end of October. So it's more than doable.

Comet is not quite the same. Bulk of the audience was still seated facing some sort of a stage and it was essentially the stage being redesigned. The in-the-round setting requires ripping out rows and developing a whole level behind the arch. They could do a Comet style thing, but it wouldn't be good enough, because the closeness and having the opposite audience like a mirror to you is still lost. And then there are the risers which also only have that kind of impact when positioned centrally. They could rethink staging completely, but they'll lose the proximity and atmosphere.

Good to know. Regardless, Give Salesmen two weeks to load out and Cabaret could start previews in April.

Guess I have to get a ticket for the NYTW run. I cannot wait for another 1+ year : /
wondering do you have info on the additional cast?

Rumor is Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe, and Lindsey Mendez. Unfortunately you have to have that kind of star power for a commercial run of Merrily.

Posted: 8/17/22 at 6:12pmI somehow missed the Camelot was moved to the Spring. I also didn't realize that Ohio State Murders was also an LCT production. I wonder if they have something else up their sleeves for a Fall show, because it surprises me they'd leave the Beaumont empty for 10 months!

Two Sondheim shows competing for Best Musical Revival. Into the Woods vs. Sweeney Todd. Congrats Stephen!
Any word what theater Sweeney Todd is set to play at?

Planning a few shows and just realized something - neither of the Pulitzer Prize Winning Dramas COST OF LIVING or BETWEEN RIVERSIDE& CRAZY will be up on Thanksgiving Weekend. What are the chances of that? Really wanted to see both productions...and THE COLLABORATION.
I'd imagine Thanksgiving Weekend is bountiful for business so odd that MTC purposely chose not to program that weekend. My loss for sure. Affords me to check out pieces I am on the fence about DOWNSTATE and THIS WILL GET YOU SICK ( I mean, how can you not want to see Linda Lavin on stage again)

Nothing officially announced yet, but looks like Suffs may be coming in the spring, with previews starting in March for opening night in April. No mention of a theatre yet.

I'm taking it with a grain of salt at this point but hopeful/optimistic it's true. I know Shaina Taub has said she wants to do more work on it including possibly an out of town run, and this rumored Broadway time frame seems like it would be compatible with that.

Any workshops or anything announced? It seems like they wouldn't rush this to Broadway. Although next season there doesn't seem to be a definite "best new musical" besides Akimbo, which is opening early so who knows if it will make it to June.

Rather interesting it has dates listed already for previews and opening night on the NYTix site. Why make up something so specific?

Exactly, the dates are what making me think it’s official and we’re just waiting on the actual announcement.

Thanks for keeping this updated list, I use it often. What other shows are still rumored to come in? The spring has no new musicals announced yet which seems odd. Potential shows...

-The Notebook
-Back to the Future
-Come Fall in Love
-Broadway Vacation
-Lempicka
-Devil Wears Prada (dead atm)
