Kelli is returning to South Pacific in October, so I don't see Megan playing Nellie anytime soon (as wonderful as she would be). I totally agree about SJB, she deserves to originate a good role, NOT to be a replacement. If Savanah hadn't replaced Amy in ROA, I thin Megan could have actually been a good Sherrie.

Sutton's not leaving in Oct, but pretty close ...
This is too bad that it's closing already. I was really hoping to see this.
I hope Marc Kudish will get a new show soon, I love him!

Block couldn't be more wrong for Fiona.
I believe Foster and Daniel Breaker are leaving SHREK on November 1st, not in October.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.

I could see Laura Bell Bundy possibly playing the role Megan played. That would be very interesting. Are the three ladies going on tour too?

"I could NOT see SJB as Fiona."
I know it sounds crazy, but there are some parts in "I Know It's Today" and "Morning Person" that I could see Stephanie do very well in.

We don't know anything about the tour yet, but it would not surprise me if Laura Bell played the part just for the Nashville leg (similar to what she did with Legally Blonde).

I am sort of fascinated at the comments in this thread concerning Ms. Block. I do not mean to sound disrespectful of a working actress in the business, but the reason she cannot 'catch a break' is because she is not a decent actress. She has a phenominal voice, but that is not enough nowadays. Now, granted I have only seen her in 9 to 5, but she was one of the giant reasons the show didn't work for me. And listening to her attempt to act on the cast recording makes me cringe to the point of skipping past songs. Just not a good actress in my opinion...which I'm sure is a reason her shows get bad reviews and always close. Not the only reason, mind you, but she sure doesn't help elevate that script like Janney did and Hilty did at times.
Tips for SJB to not be in a flop next time around:
1-Take more acting classes that aren't based around musical theatre.
2-Don't be afraid to open up and be real
3-Choose better scripts! Read some straight plays to help you understand what is a good scipt/idea and what is not.
4-Keep singing. Because your voice is awesome.
/end condescending rant. My apologies.

Very sad to see it go. I'm just glad we have the lovely cast recording to let this show live on forever.

I think I'll just miss Marc Kudisch. Come back to the Broadway stage soon please!

Hilty seems like more of a Fiona than Block, but I STILL can't see her as a Fiona. Does she even dance?

Hilty couldn't even jump rope in her Cow Girl number.

I would love to see Megan as Nellie, but I don't see it happening.

I was just daydreaming about SJB as Diana and part of me liked it... well, her vocals atleast.

I can't see SJB as Diana at all. Not one bit...maybe Julia Murney, but not SJB. Not by any means.

Me either really. Oh Murney! Yes. I'd just love to hear SJB sing the score. What a voice!

I know it's a huge flop and all, but I really don't think she needs to quit the business and become a nanny because of it.
