I just found that picture while searching on Instagram, it's not mine. I haven't seen the show yet, I will be attending tomorrow's performance. Funny enough I'm on the third row of the orchestra so I'll be able to report back tomorrow night!

Looks like it's a lovely show for elderly gentlemen judging by this audience, how nice.

So the first two rows are on the same level, from the third row up, it's raked. But it doesn't really help much, the stage is pretty much the same level as the first two rows so they do block your view. Specially because the actors spend a reasonable amount of time on the floor.

I would recommend either first row, or a bit further up so you can get the whole picture. During a lot of times my view was blocked. Same for stage seating, if you can't get the first row you will most likely have an obstructed view.

Someone walked out in the first 15 minutes of it.

Unlike the patron who walked out, I enjoyed it quite a lot, but I'm a huge fan of the movie, so that definitely helped. If you are familiar with the story and have no problems with homoerotic, then yes, I would absolutely recommend it.

If this is your introduction to a clockwork orange I probably wouldn't recommend it? It will certainly be an interesting night out regardless...



edit: also figured I'd add that Jonno Davies is indeed amazing. He's also funny!

I'm a huge fan of the movie and of Kubrick's work, in general. The movie is among my all-time favorites. I realize that this is very different from the movie, but, in addition to the Kubrick film, I'm familiar with the book and story and am excited to see how it has been interrupted and adapted for the stage. Thanks again for all the info!

The screaming didn't bother me. They are a gang and then he was in jail with violent inmates. I expected it. And it wasn't really amplified. JMO

In case anyone is wondering, we got $29 rush tickets for the show. They were on side stage seating closest to the front of the stage. We usually go for the cheap tickets if possible and understand that they are partial view. Usually we have pretty good luck with the rush tickets, but I have to say the seats they offer for this show are horrible that it's not worth paying anything for them. You are basically watching the show facing everyone's back, and 90% of the time the view is blocked... Just FYI..

Well, if they are screaming someone else's words, while doing someone else's blocking, to the service of someone else's story, I think that is the correct term. Whether you find it effective is entirely a different point.

I had thought Naked Boys Singing had finally slipped into well-deserved oblivion. When did it come back? I see it plays a Saturday 6PM performance only (once a week), at the tiny Kirk Theatre. I suppose that's so people can have time afterwards to see a real show...

Anyway, everyone knows that the latest naked boy show is Afterglow, at the seedy Davenport.

From my seat I could actually see the priest perfectly in that scene. But every time I performer was on the floor, my view was blocked and I couldn't see them. I could tell what was going on, but I missed a lot of expressions from the actors because of it. Towards the end specially, Jonno Davies spends a lot of time on the floor. Even during the treatment scenes I could only see half of him.

Similar to lostphantom's experience, but not as bad.
