So, you think everyone should get paid, as long as you don't have to do the paying. Nice.
The future is bright.

Dannyboy...do yourself a favor and learn from this wise saying:
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt..
Too late for you as far as that's concerned, but learn from it.

PLEASE - let's keep this topic to ANNIE.
and not about a FREE ANNIE.
Please buy the version when released. If you downloaded a free copy that is up to you, but let's end this discussion.
I tend to be someone who will download if a copy leaks, but the quality is never as good as the actual album. I feel like the best way to listen to albums is ITUNES quality.

Well I am still glad I bought mine..even if it did cost me $25. It could have been better and it has it's faults but it still has a lot of memories wrapped into it for me and some tracks are really good... so I'm glad I have it.
And as much as I really dislike the NY accents they decided to use for this production, since the CD was a representation of it, I expected the accents..so they didn't really bother me as much as when I first heard them. I personally thought the accents I heard on stage were for the most part worse than what's on the CD. But that's me.
I have the CD = Happy Camper.
(But I too am REALLY looking forward to the Kinky Boots CD coming out at the end of the month)

For those wondering why the album includes two bits of narration; Act Two opening "Meanwhile at NBC Rockefeller Center Radio City...." and "Meanwhile in the Oval Office in Washington..." ...here's why!
Since Sandy's ARF's have ALWAYS been vocalized by Martin Charnin, Thomas Z. Shepard wanted to honor Charles Strouse by giving HIM a cameo appearance on the album...so these transition voiceovers were recorded by Mr. Strouse as his Broadway Cast Album vocal debut! We have it on video.
And it does rather set the scene in a storybook fashion. So there.

ddenoff2 - please check your messages.
Thanks.
I personally get free albums on line all the time- I am certainly not gonna pay 25 dollars for a cd! that's WAY too much for me- if I like it, I end up buying the actual album WHEN it's marked down to around 10.00 which is the most I will pay- why are cast albums soo much more expensive then regular albums, I mean, I get they may have more songs but still- 25.00 is a lot. just my openion.
I didn't know that was Strouse! I didn't even know it was Charnin who did the Sandy vocals. The two bits of narration to me just seemed to come out of nowhere thought, that's why I found it weird I guess.
I don't even think I would pay 25.00 for a Cast album that I myself was on!

At least we can all hear it on itunes May 28th
Due to demand, we have been able to move up the 'street date' to June 18, and as you know it's already on-sale at the Palace Theatre since last week...and our initial order is already 60% sold out.
^ That's GREAT to hear! I love hearing that cast recordings are selling

wish it would be bumped a week for the digital release :[
this wait is killing me.
As much as I disliked this album at first, it's starting to grow on me. My biggest problem is the dialogue, but now thatI'm used to it being there it doesn't bother me as much. The orchestrations are definitely the highlight of this cast recording. LOVELOVE the Overture and the new arrangements for Tomorrow.
