Is Aaron Tveit signing playbills after the show? I was there a few weeks ago and he went out the back way without signing. I checked Broadway Understudies.com, but there is no current information. Does anyone know if and when he signs?
Every other Saturday, but only before matinee performances.
Last night, sunday night, and last thursdy he didn't sign. I'm taking it he hardly ever signs anymore.
That's what I hear as well...totally understand if you're already going to see the show and want to meet him, but I def. would not go if that's the only reason, as it's not as likely as before.
As per usual, the nutjobs, fangirls, and rushers have ruined it for everyone. Thanks nut cases and stalkers. Oh, and Alice probably makes the rest of the cast look like Scrooge.
Awww that sucks
If you ask over at Bway Secrets you will get the "Diva" excuse for him not coming out.
It's hard to sign playbills after the show when you've missed about half of the performances since returning. I think Aaron has been out at least twice every week since he's been back. That's ridiculous.
Hasn't it been due to his Gossip Girl filming though? I'm sure if it is then it's written into his contract.
Whats ridiculous is N2N's fangirls. Like a poster said, they've ruined the experience (rush, the show & stagedoor) for us. It's pathetic. It's such a great show, with a great cast, but their stupid obsessions have driven less obsessed fans, and the cast crazy.
This is why the SA kids had to wear hoodies and run out the front door of the theatre-nut case losers with no life.

If you're going to miss half the performances, don't sign a contract? I can't imagine that any producers would allow anyone to sign a contact saying that they could miss the number of performances he is missing, regardless of what it's for. And what, are ALL of his Gossip Girl scenes outdoors at night? Why can't he film them during the day?

When I saw it last Sunday his brother was at the stage door and he still didn't come out... now I know Aaron is extremely nice so those fans must really have gotten to him.
^ seriously?!
It's just terrible! There really are sane fans out there and they may never get to meet him because of some crazy idiots. Thank God they switched the rush to lotto, maybe they'll go away!
"I checked Broadway Understudies.com, but there is no current information."
Why would BroadwayUnderstudies.com have any info on when he comes out of the SD?
And if I were Aaron I wouldn't come out either. I can't stand the fans.
Aaron is a very nice man. I met him once (While he was walking down 9th avenue).
My friend and I just looked at him and when he was walking by we wished him a good show (it was his second or 3rd day back) and he stopped and engaged us in a brief conversation.
The N2N fans probably soured the whole Stage door experience for him, since half of the fans are border line nuts.
CHARGING out of the theater during curtain call to get a spot at the Barricade.
I hate the sobbing, or screaming, and all the other weird tactics these fan girls (and boys) use to get attention.
Maybe he can't write.
Maybe he is intimidated because he cant write his name in bubble letters taking 10 minutes so that he can spend extra special alone time with each fan.
Aaron is a very nice, friendly guy. He appreciates his fans and everyone who comes to see the show. The crazy, nutjobs must've scared him away. I don't blame him (or Jenn for that matter) for not coming out.
Aaron is also super speedy - I remember one time after the show at Arena Stage where I hadn't even gotten out of the building yet and I saw him through the doors already walking away from the theatre.
betty, you crack me up.

My first time seeing the show back in April- it was a Saturday matinee and every cast member came out, signed, and took pics... oh, what the fans do.
As someone above said, for the next 5 weeks Aaron is shooting Gossip Girl with call times at 6am. He's making it work the best he can to do as many shows as possible, but for the next 5 weeks, that half hour of signing after the show he would normally do is better spent sleeping. My guess is you will see him back to greeting when the shooting is over.
As for BJH2114's "If you're going to miss half the performances, don't sign a contract?" a) this happens all the time. b) it wouldn't be happening if the producers didn't ok it. c) this isn't an open ended thing... it's 6 weeks.
I've met a lot of people in this business who haven't risen half as high and are already all ego. He's a very nice guy who seems totally unaffected by his success. Cut him some slack and give him the benefit of the doubt.
We aren't blaming it on him, or at least I'm not. If Aaron wants to stay in the theater and/or go straight home to rest, I wouldn't blame him. He isn't obligated to sign at stagedoor, but he's kind enough to do so.
But in all seriousness those obsessed-crazy-status seeking fans need to stop ruining everything for us.
I did notice Aaron visibly rolling his eyes at the shrieking fangirls after a Saturday matinee a few weeks ago. Not that I blame him; I was silently cursing them myself. He seemed to be in a better mood the next day because the crowd was more well-behaved.
