Isn't he a little old to be playing teenagers still? Yes, this wouldn't be the first time someone over 30 was playing a lead in Grease (a la Stockard), but still.

This is pretty smart casting all around for Grease that will definitely grab viewers, besides that it's Grease which will pull in people regardless (moreso than Peter Pan and Sound of Music). I'm anxious for The Wiz casting from NBC. I'll definitely watch both and buy their soundtrack/cast albums.

Besides school productions, has anyone ever really used high school-aged students for Grease? lol. With Julianne Hough, bringing in the usual audience from ABC with Dancing with the Stars, Keke Palmer as Marty, Vanessa Hudgens and Carlos PenaVega (originally from the Nickelodeon show Big Time Rush) as Rizzo and Kenickie have similar fanbases: tweens/teens, now young adults), Aaron Tveit and the musical theatre fans, and the people who love Grease in general who are willing to watch this should bring a huge number in viewership.

Definitely grab viewers? Uh, think again. Sure, he may be great for the role, but he is by no means a household name that will grab viewers.

Carlos Pena is all wrong for Kenickie. He seems much more like Sonny too me. He is awfully short.

jacobsnchz14 wasn't talking about Aaron Tveit (though he is one of the stars of Graceland on the USA Network). I'm sure Aaron's previous working relationship with producer Marc Platt (since Tveit is a former Fiyero) was one reason why they considered him.

I think they felt compelled to have someone for Danny who could actually sing live , what with Julianne as Sandy.    Good choice.

Zuko 17 and Italian.....don't really see it..but he will pull it off because he is very talented...I think Hough is a little too old looking and cant act..hopefully with some pros around her she will rise to the level around her ,..

Whatever his age, isn't he on the chilly, cerebral side for this role?  A Connecticut private school in his past. I always see Gloria Upson in him, having just stepped on the ping pong ball.

I'm just requoting this because this is the most important comment on this thread... 

I actually kinda hate Grease, but I think I'll watch this merely out of curiosity. I'm kind of excited to see this cast lol.
