Do you think Tveit still thinks he's a Tony winner like everyone else even though he was the only nominee in the category and it was in the Covid year where they had a laughable awards show?
Kad said: "I always thought it was relatively easy to justify. Lovett recognizes Sweeney because she’s been in love with him- of course she would know his face even after 16 years (or however many, I cannot recall but know the script gives an exact number). The Judge and the Beadle likely never thought of him very much at all, even while ruining his life- he is just one of many people they’ve destroyed, so to them he just seems vaguely familiar."
Look at you, making some amazing points in this thread!
Aaron Tveit sang ‘soliloquy’ and ‘younger than springtime’ at the London R&H concert. There need be no concern with his voice for the role at all. It is a powerful deep powerhouse, and will not be something to be excused but be his greatest asset in the role. He doesn’t sound anything like he did in ‘next to normal’. It would be like comparing Bernadette’s ‘dames at sea’ voice with how it developed in into the woods.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
I sincerely hope they’ll change the outside banners and window card to reflect the dark version of the artwork they are leaning into. I always thought the white versions looked off.
For the January 17-February 7 block of shows, the role of Sweeney Todd will be played by Nicholas Christopher Wednesday thru Saturday, and Paul Jordan-Jansen will play Sweeney Todd on Sunday.
Jeanna de Waal will be playing Mrs. Lovett for all evening shows and Sundays, while Delaney Westfall will play the role for the matinees.
Won’t be surprised to see this on TDF for this entire duration, so very excited to get to see these pairings!
With Nicholas Christopher doing Sweeney six times a week during the transition period, what are the odds that he will be Pirelli on Sundays or will he be given the day off?

So by my calculations:
Weds Mat: Christopher/Westfall
Weds Eve: Christopher/de Waal
Thursday: Christopher/de Waal
Friday: Christopher/de Waal
Saturday Mat: Christopher/Westfall
Saturday Eve: Christopher/de Waal
Sunday: Jansen/de Waal
So unless de Christopher is out Sat Mat or de Waal is out on a Sunday, the only non-pairing is Jansen/Westfall

Thank you for this. I wanted to see Christopher last month and had to miss the show we had tickets for. They were nice enough to let me exchange those unused tickets for one of the upcoming performances.
Odd question. Does anyone know if there are plans to tape Sweeney Todd for broadcast once the cast changes?
I was looking at Sutton Fosters IMDB page, to see if she was in a short that I had just seen, and listed as an upcoming project, was Sweeney Todd. The Sweeney Todd link has no other information other than it being in development. I just thought it was odd that it would be listed on IMDB, if it were just her going into the show. Aaron’s page has no such listing.
The only world where this gets filmed now is if the Jackman/Foster romance rumors turn out to be true, and he replaces Tveit just for the fun of doing another show opposite his girlfriend.
There was a similar IMDB page made for an Into the Woods pro-shot with that replacement cast (Block, Arcelus, Rodriguez, Creel) that obviously never happened. Wouldn't take much stock in it.

Occasionally B-roll footage information shows up on IMDB. People in the industry are able to add their names and credits with IMDBpro. It's a good way to keep track of their work in a public, searchable format.
For Into the Woods, there were several scenes that were filmed and shown on a lot of the theatre websites for marketing. Chances are good that entry relates to those scenes.
