I wish Gaga didn't try so hard with her theatrics and circus acts.Stop putting on such a show and sing or dance. do something without all the extras to make up for lack of talent. there's nothing natural about anything she does or wears. It's all so fake.
I think Adam is more natural than she is if you want to compare the two.

Second of all, remember that it is just that-your opinion. there are plenty of others besides me who don't opine that Lady Gaga is talented.
third - how did you form the opinion that I'm closed minded? You don't know me from Adam (pun intended). OR - are you calling me closed minded because I don't happen to agree with YOU. that's pretty closed minded of you.

I don't share your opinion, ok?
"Your dislike hasn't unlocked some secret lack of talent."
Who ever said it has? why was that statement necessary. Why haven't you reprimanded any of the others who share my same opinion?
Scratch that last question - I know EXACTLY why.

I agree with the kooky antics and alarming behavior but she is gifted. See this video, prior to her GaGa days, for evidence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM51qOpwcIM&feature=player_embedded
Wonderful girl. It's a shame she didn't stick with it.... as Stefani. Oh well!

Get over it and grow up people.
p.s. music snob - attending school doesn't make a person talented. Talent is a god given gift.

I'm old, I know it, but instead of calling me closed minded, it should be considered that I've been around. I've seen everything that she's doing way before she came along. To me it's nothing unique. Leigh Bowery, anyone?

And, no, there's no secret subtext why I chose to respond to you. You just lucked out.

OMG are you kidding me?? haha. He was MOST DEFINITELY singing live- the vocals were very all over the place (which Adam himself fully admits- he's mentioned in virtually every interview that his only real regret in the performance was that he didn't sing it better). Trust me, just look up the music video for the song and you'll see that it's completely different than the AMA performance haha
I think most people are definitely in agreement that Adam's performance was a hot mess- and I say this as a hardcore fan, as anyone who knows me would know. Even Adam himself really has no problem admitting that he got too excited and went a little crazy, and the quality of the performance suffered for it.
However, what he isn't apologizing for- and I back him completely on this- is the fact that he dared to give a highly provocative performance. He's 100% right that there's a huge double standard in our culture. If a female artist had given the exact same performance, it would NOT have been a big deal.
It's not that the performance didn't go into trashy territory- it did- but the fact that people are so up in arms about it when female performers go into trashy territory all the time and no one bats an eye is just ridiculous. And that's really what he's defending.
I think this is a really good interview where he basically explains everything I just said, but much more eloquently haha:

(seriously, I recommend it- he has a lot of great thoughts on everything :))
Oh and on the subject of GaGa:
I think she's really cool

Jane2, I'll post the link again... even as someone who can't stand Lady GagGa - she's freaking talented:

And yes, his riffs were all over the place. Which is completely NOT normal Adam standards.
Normal Adam standards is more like:

Flawless.
I really do believe him when he says that he just had way too much of an adrenaline rush and it got the best of him. I know when I get really excited/nervous/have a big adrenaline rush my voice (just as in speaking voice) gets all crazy and high pitched and just.. not good. haha. So I totally can believe that's what happened.
I think he just needs to learn how to calm himself down before big exciting performances like that so that he can really focus on the vocals. He obviously HAS all the vocal ability in the world. So it's just a mental thing. He'll learn I'm sure- he's still brand new at all of this, at least on such a large scale.

A douche who thinks he's original/authentic/unique and stepping up the pop music game with a few tricks, and a total rip-off-other-artists oversinging riff-tastic mess.

I hope he's got cords of steel to be doing that. Even Alice Ripley has supposedly had vocal troubles with Next to Normal and I was convinced for a long time that she had cords of steel. Adam is a good performer but I feel that he just has the chemistry to be on stage. As in a theatrical stage, not a concert stage. But he'll make money regardless of what I think. I just hope he's taking care of himself.
