Just saw this on Twitter -

Sadly the Anne Hathaway rumour isn't true. But I imagine the Russell Crowe one is. #dear
(that Russell would play the pineapple)
Westendproducer on Twitter says it's not true

I love that she hides her face from the paparazzi like that, that's awesome. And I don't know how she is at work, but I do know people who see her regularly at different places in New York (bakeries, coffee shops, etc) and they all seem to think she's kind and sweet. Of course there's also people on here who say that Lea Michele was nice to them, so who knows?
Aren't people over their deep hatred of Anne Hathaway? Isn't there a new female star to direct misogynist behavior toward? The Anne Hathaway thing was so early 2013.

Why exactly is Hatheway hated? Envy. Why aren't people hating on Meryl Steep, she's got more oscars!
I was over joyed when I first read this, now I'm kind of disappointed, but still VERY excited for Cumming.
I agree with PJ, Liza for Schneider!!

Its just trendy to hate on Anne at the moment, same way as it has been to hate on Gwyneth Paltrow. The hate is mainly driven by media/social media because of comments or perceived attitude. It will pass (probably move on to Beyonce if she carries on her diva ways)
Ask the average person on the street though and they probably either like her, or are not fussed one way or another. Certainly no hate

'has anyone ever played the same role in two seperate revivals/productions??'
Not forgetting Yule Brynner, think he played in every production of The King and I including regional and maybe a couple of high schools.

Donna Murphy for Schneider.

WHy would an Oscar winner - newly crowned - play a role in a revival of a revival? It's going to be the same ol' staging as it was last time. Seems beneath her at the moment.

Why would people be more envious of Anne Hathaway than Meryl Streep?

I'm not saying that, I'm saying the opposite. Since Meryl has more Oscars they should hate her instead of Anne, assuming the awards are the source of the hate.

I hate it when they cast these movie stars on broadway.
Couldn't they found someone unknown, yet filled with amazing talent? My god I wanted to slit my wrists when she tried to sing in Les Miz.
SH*T, they could've cast ME as Sally Bowles lol just kidding, but I do LOVE singing "Maybe this Time".. http://youtu.be/BNL3dtQaXKg

1. She isn't cast. The article is wrong. It has been stated as such.
2. Lots of folks LOVED her in Les Miz. (Me included.) She did win an Oscar for it, after all.
3. JUST because one is a movie star does not preclude them from acting on broadway.

Her acting was good in Les Miz, not so much the singing. But I think she'd make an okay Sally Bowles. Nothing for me to get too excited about.

she just annoys me.

Could the fact that she annoys you be clouding your judgement then, possibly...? Saying you wanted to slit your wrists when she sang is a BIT extreme.

I'm not really a fan, but I don't hate her. I think she'd be fine as Sally. Sally isn't supposed to be a great singer

Ah, the Daily Fail strikes again.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

Lauren Ambrose would be one hell of a Sally Bowles.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

I was really hoping Alan Cumming was eluding to Threepenny Opera!
Common sense? What's common about it? No one has common sense. It should be called rare sense.

Did you see it? The only good thing in it (imo) was Jim Dale. I love Wallace Shawn too, but that production was a major fail for me.
I'm glad we eluded a revival of it

Ha I'm being sarcastic, don't take it so serious!
What I feel about this Anne whatsherface is MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION. For me I believe she needs to stay away from broadway and give these unknown professionals a chance to shine.
KNOWWHATIMSAYIN'? :)

What about unknowns getting a chance in movies? Alan Cumming certainly isn't an "unknown".
