"I wonder if Alan will comment on the revival itself now that the cat's pretty much out of the bag."
Alan pretty much let the cat out of the bag already. In addition to alluding to Cabaret with Seth Rudetsky, read the article I linked to. Cumming says he'll be dancing on Broadway in a show he's done before. Since there's dancing, it can only be Cabaret or Threepenny Opera. He even essentially gave dates, saying rehearsals begin the day after after his 49th birthday - so we're talking 2014.
I agree with Matt - what is Roundabout waiting for? Are they afraid of the loss of momentum? If so, too bad - their star has already, for all intents and purposes, made the announcement for them.
But not self conscious and neurotic for Shakespeare in the Park? You know, that little joint uptown know for its unique difficulties being open air and in the Park?
Adding to that, wasn't all the feedback from cast and crew very positive? Sure, no one was likely to publicly bash her, but as I recall there wasn't even a hint of anything negative regarding her attitude, work ethic, or performance.

I don't think there is nearly as much scrutiny or as much at stake involved with SitP. Well, unless you are Amy Adams. I do wonder if Hathaway has any interest in pursuing Broadway, she's definitely had the chance (I wish she had followed through with the PROMISES, PROMISES revival). I hope this means there's still a chance Arianda will be involved.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Looks like Roundabout couldn't wait any longer. Officially been confirmed with Cumming reprising his role, via the NY Times. Hathaway still unconfirmed.
i wouldnt say the denial rules her out, wouldnt be the first time a rep denies a rumour for a star to it then be true some time later. either someone jumped the gun on leaking the news or put two and two together and made five
^ ^ this looks like a person who wants to be rubbed on by stage door groupies every night for months
so wait. - - - - - - > are you comparing a few non pressure shows at Shakespeare in the Park during the summer outside - - - > to starring in a Broadway house play or musical as an Oscar nominee (now winner) ?
google her name you'll see articles about how she's the most hated actress in America right now. she hides her face EVERYWHERE she goes !!! with huge hats !!
