I remember Chita was notorious for always saying she was going to do The Visit "next season" in concerts and interviews for years and years, and then nothing. It became eye-roll inducing. And then finally it happened. Hopefully Chenoweth dreams will come true!
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
Chenoweth announces a “new” musical every 2 years it seems. She’s attached to like 30 upcoming musicals at last count. The only one that did come to fruition was the revival of ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY in 2015. Her name has been attached to workshops, revivals, and new musicals before and after this — none that materialized.
Having met Kristin in a social environment several years ago, I found her to be extremely artificial. We were talking face-to-face and I could tell she was feeding me a line of hooey. I wouldn't put much credence in anything she says on television. However, she's a marvelous performer and I enjoy her on stage.

Yes--about 13 years ago. Cheno wanted to make a film bio about Dusty Springfield, but it never happened. I like her a lot,but I take whatever she says with a grain of salt.

I thought Jane Krakowski was the one who was in talks and workshoped Whorehouse. It was going to be directed by Rob Ashford. I am kind of glad he didn't get his hands on it. I think with the right name, care and vision ...Whorehouse can comeback.

I recall a number of names being thrown about around this ever gestating Whorehouse revival at various times, including Chenoweth and Krakowski
She was on THE VIEW this past Wednesday and her new Broadway project was mentioned. One host asked for a hint about the new show. She answered “ It’s going to be great!” That’s the hint.
