Can I just chime in and say one thing? Message boards do NOT have this enormous "power" that you all think they have. NO ONE IN THE REAL *BUSINESS* OF ENTERTAINMENT CARES WHAT'S BEING SAID AT B'WAYWORLD.COM! Stop flattering yourselves SO unabashedly and erroneously. Once again, PERSPECTIVE, people!

NO ONE IN THE REAL *BUSINESS* OF ENTERTAINMENT CARES WHAT'S BEING SAID AT B'WAYWORLD.COM!
Unfortunately, a lot of performers *do* care what's being said here and on other message boards. Probably because we'll say what the critics won't.... and in the end, it's us as fans who filling the theatres night after night and not the critics.
There are a lot of people currently performing on Broadway who read this site, Talking Broadway and Musicals.net avidly.

Well, I hope that is true, especially in your case, Al Dente, because I am mostly appalled and annoyed at some of the garbage and absurd criticisms that you post sometimes. And most of your comments and posts about Little Shop, for instance, were so exaggerated and taken too far! So, for if only these reasons alone I hope that you are right - But then again, who would care what an annoymous poster like yourself on a message board, who never has anything positive to say, thinks or posts? Yes, some of us need to gain persective indeed.

Heather,
The brouhaha in this thread was just called to my attention by another poster.
Sincere condolences on the loss of your father. My Dad passed away twelve years ago from colon cancer. I know your pain.

Thanks to all for their condolances both in this thread and via PM.

CJR, I think you're a little off. WE'RE filling the seats vs. the critics? Um, hardly. WE for the most part get free tickets and WE are about 100 people total. The CRITICS can reach MILLIONS of people will kind words. And they reach REGULAR folks who will actually pay full price to see something of quality. Your focus is definitely off.
The only other thing that I want to say is that even if Al Dente was harsh on Little Shop, he was no harsher than the critics as a whole.

My focus is not off. I was saying WE as in the general theatre going public. Not JUST the people on the board. Im not wrong in saying that everyone on this board DOESNT see everything for free.

Even if HALF of us paid for seats to a show, I don't think it would fill more than a few rows in an orchestra. You think that keeps a show running?

Are you *not* getting what I'm saying? Im not talking about JUST the people on here....

How is that referring to the theater community on a whole?

The "it's us as fans" part was NOT just referring to this board. It was referring to a BUNCH of theatre boards and, well DUH the fans.
Anyway...
RobD -- Stevos was right... is there any way we can delete this thread?

Why delete the thread? Cause someone doesn't agree with you? What's the point of a message board? I'm hardly attacking you. I haven't said ANYTHING about Roxane Carrasco! :)

Oh I don't care that you don't agree with me. That had nothing to do with my asking for the deletion... don't flatter yourself hahahaha just kidding.
Seriously though, I asked mainly because of the initial post itself. Most other boards it'll just drop off with time, but **** gets resurrected here on a daily basis. I'd rather not have a thread which was started to BASH me on the board day after day, even if the poster was banned.
You can't tell me that if you were in my shoes you wouldn't feel the same way about it.

this thread frightened me. i missed the 03 in the date and thought that melanie griffith was going to tour with chicago this year. anyway, it's funny that most people who posted in this thread no longer post on this board at all.
Honey, what are you doing bringing back threads from over a year ago?

Oy, seriously, what ARE you doing resurrecting THIS thread?! good lord above lol

Wow, just looked and was going to defend CJR, but noticed it was from WAY back in October 2003!!!
I thought Rob did away with the "theatrenut/Post Production" person.
Anyways, just leave CJR alone. Since I've been posting here, she has done absolutely nothing wrong and is a great contributor to this forum.
CJR, would I be getting in the way if I brought up Terra at this point? lol

How unfiar is it that this post got revived
I was starting to get really angry
Sorry Heather, I realized this is over and year old after I sent you the PM. My bad..
I'm sorry...but this thread emulates how interesting this place used to be. The personal attacks, the double identities, the rushing to the defense of one of our own, celebrities being dragged through the mud.
It all used to be so...well..fun...in a really twisted way.
