I just bought a row F ticket for tonight, I will report back! Squee!
Looking forward to hearing how he does tonight! I saw the show with NPH, and would love to go back and see Hall.

He's astounding. He lands on that stage and he owns it every single second. He had a couple mic flubs and he tripped a few times, but he brushed it off immediately and it made it seem like he meant to do it. Vocally, he has a really unique and interesting voice, not technically "pretty" but it works and fits the score beautifully. He nailed all the comedy in the first half of the show, and his breakdown was heartbreaking.
Just a really phenomenal performance.

I was there tonight and thought Michael was great. He isn't the strongest singer, but he does a good job with what he has. I have seen all three Hedwigs now, and I can say that I think Michael acted the role the best out of the three. Andrew certainly sang it the best, but lacked the vulnerability that Michael brings to the role.
I liked all three, but Michael really may eek out to be my favorite. The audience was wild tonight, back to the enthusiasm levels that Neil had when he as in.
Definitely worth a return visit to see Michael. He's clearly having a blast with the role.
Thrilled to hear that. I really enjoyed Hedwig when I previously saw it, but I'm 100% seeing it for MCH now. I'm reverting from being an adult to a squealing teen over him right now. I remember seeing in Cabaret at two different points in the run and thinking he was going to be a huge star. 8 months later, Six Feet Under premiered. He's one of the most versatile younger actors out there today and this just adds to his versatility--plus, it's great to see him in a musical. His voice is interesting, but he has always seemed at ease in challenging roles.
Best of luck to him in his run. Can't wait to see him n November.
Anyone see if they kept the pink foil poster design?

Yes, sadly it was the same poster design which is a shame. The poster of Michael C Hall outside the theater is so great, why aren't they selling that?! The foil one is dull, dull dull and you can't even read any of the names on it.

Thanks so much for the reviews!! I will definitely go see it now!

In all fairness, the posters they're selling still have Andrew listed in the credits. So there's still a chance there will be a poster with Michael's face on it!
Guys!
Oh MY GOD. He is just brilliant in the part, he sounded amazing, and it seemed like the entire audience felt his highs and his heartbreaking lows. He is so vulnerable, nuanced, and layered in his interpretation. It's not the Michael C Hall show (a lot of people said that about NPH), he completely disappears into the role. This has become a must see performance. BRAV-F*CKIN-O!!!
I apologize if my review is a little off, I had two Manhattans after the show

Bah, I'll likely end up missing him. Much more interested in MCH than NPH in this role...
Thanks for the early reports! I'm so excited to be seeing this next week.
Did MCH do something similar to NPH and jump in the audience and gyrate on someone's face, or motorboat a lady with large breasts?

He went into the audience, started giving a carwash to a man, fell off the chair and then just gyrated on his chest. Then he kissed someone in the front row.

Sutton Ross - HA!! Better after the show instead of 54+ $$ during the show. I will pony-up for my expensive cup of wine again. I like the buzz during the show
Just bought my tkt for the 11/15 8pm performance. Can't wait!

It must be really hard to maneuver in those shoes! Especially for a man, who's probably not used to high heels!
I saw it...and while I thought he was very good, I think there are a few places where he needs to improve.
On the positive-the energy was palpable. His voice is quite good. (I think they should lower the first verse of "Wig in a Box" by about a half step for him but he sang the score incredibly well. I was impressed especially with "Origin of Love" and "Wicked Little Town" and its reprise.)
On the negative: I am not sure if this might be his own acting choice, but I felt like he was not comfortable playing a woman. (I don't know how to phrase this any better than that.) The reason I thought this might be a conscious decision is that the character ultimately makes a decision about their identity so perhaps it's his take.
His movement was a little less fluid than either Harris or Rannells.
A lot of these problems will work themselves out. (I think in particular the movement will work itself out as he gets more comfortable in the role.) I do think he will get more comfortable vocally as he gets used to the music. I'm hoping to go back once he's had a chance to settle into the part.
I still think Andrew was the best in both voice and acting. Michael could end up as the best in acting, but he just seemed too tentative.

I want to know what "all the circuit boys in Chelsea" thought of the show?
Oh HELL yes, all shows on Broadway would immediately close without those boys...........

I would love a good picture of his curtain call.

Weren't all the circuit boys at the Kylie Minogue concert?
