After a run of 15 years, Avenue Q is closing. What a run for a great show.

Wow! I know “everything in life is only for now,” but this one sure stuck around for what seemed like forever. Congrats, Avenue Q! This show truly defied all the odds.

For anyone that wants to return one more time, Telecharge Offers Code AQPBLSUM6 for $59 Orchestra seats! Wont be surprised if that gets pulled soon!
Brava! Congrats on a wonderful run. I’ve seen twice (never in NYC), most recently in a college production this year where I fell in love with it all over again.
What an impressive run, fueled by some of the smartest producing around. Congrats indeed.
So sad! Thought this would run for forever. Such a great show.
I saw this show for the first time while I was in college and it really resonated with me in a way other comedic shows haven't. Hats off to a wonderful 15 years.

saw the original broadway cast. saw the original VEGAS cast. saw it at New World Stages. what an incredible life this show has lived.
I wonder what the current line in "FOR NOW" is... can anyone enlighten me? trump related I hope.
Saw this 2x at the golden and then 2x at NWS. Maybe they’re moving out, making way for Jagged Little Pill?

My first Broadway show, sad to see it go
I've always thought that this is a show that I needed to revisit somewhere soon. When the first national tour came through my city, we got tickets, and found the show funny, but nothing overly special...although, I feel like my dad and I had too much of a high expectation because it beat out Wicked for the Tony, so there was preconceived opinions before hand that we didn't want to change our mind about.

I wonder if they are going to go meta during "For Now" now.
This show is only for now!
Kinda crazy that I haven't seen a professional production of this show, considering it was the first show that made me obsessed with musical theater. Everyone was off obsessing over Wicked and I devoured the (burned and pirated) Avenue Q CD over and over and over.
Maybe it's time for me to make a visit to New World Stages.
First saw this show when I was a senior in college.... then I recently saw it a year ago when I was 33 years old. What a run! I still remember summer of 2004 how crowded their in-person rush lottery was (ok not as crowded as Hamilton back in 2016 but for its time back then I thought it was super crowded!)
What a great run!

Seriously? Their Vegas deal degraded so much potential for this show.
I heard rumors of a tour...I wonder if they'll tour after the close?

Like, 15 years wasn't enough?! I don't think Vegas had an impact.

How can that be true? Sounds like saying a movie degrading the book it adapted. The superior book still exists.

I think Tag is more pointing to the last minute Vegas production in lieu of a tour was a financial disaster. Also it caused the show to now to be able until 4 years after its Broadway opening, which arguably is a lost financial opportunity. One thing you can't argue though is after the Vegas debacle Avenue Q's producers were on par with the Weisslers in terms of knowing to how milk a show every last penny. The one difference is that Avenue Q maintained its quality....

But after that occurred, it toured? I was paying far less attention to such things then (I must have been smarter at the time), but not sure how delaying a tour really impacts anything. Aside from the financial loss of the Vegas staging.
This was my first Broadway show, and I caught it at NWS a month ago or so, and was heartened by how well it held up, and how much life was still in it.
