I was wondering if we'd see Jesse on Clay's Christmas special on NBC this Wednesday. Ah well, I'll just have to pretend I can see him from my seats on Thursday.

I'm not too sure if Jesse can be seen on the special..im hoping he can be...but Clay's been plugging that special relentlessly at shows lately..lol

Anyway, Hi all..Im been watching/lurking in this thread for a while...kindof caught onto the whole BARE phenomenon about 6 months ago. Never posted till now...and never got a chance to see the show either Look!

Being a Clay fan (dont throw rocks..lol) I was really happy to learn Jesse was conducting...after seeing 2 Clay shows this week, I finally ran into Jesse after the show last night and got to meet him. He was shocked when I approached him and I said I was a fan of BARE...I guess he was surprised that a BARE fan was a fan of Clay's too? I dunno...he was super sweet, shook my hand..asked my name, etc....talked with me briefly and said someday that show would get the money and get itself on Broadway. Overall..glad I got the chance to meet him. Considering he's conducting new players every night as regional orchestras and childrens choirs join the show..he's doing a great job...and looking rather spiffy on stage.

For those interested..he had a blooper last night I guess youd say...Jesse leaves the stage for Clay to sing with his piano player S'Von. Jesse was having trouble finding a way off stage without cutting in front of Clay...so he ended up climbing and half tripping over these wooden riser box things to get off the stage so he didnt cut in front of Clay...lol Clay made fun of him 5 mins later when he returned to conduct the orchestra for the next song...Clay made some comment like "Jesse, that entrance was much better than your exit a few mins ago" which got a number of laughs from the crowd.

Anyway..hopefully im welcome in this thread as a newcomer!

No we don't want you here! Look!

Seriously, welcome to the thread! Thanks for the Jesse information. There are a few of us crossover Bare/Clay fans. The two seem so at odds and yet make perfect sense in my head, or should I say... closet...

Anyhoo, poor Jesse, thankfully he didn't break any bones or fall into the crowd and got mobbed by women mistaking him for a straight boy. Glad to hear he was so kind when you met him as well. He's always been super friendly in person. Oh and not really that hard to look at!

I think MoG and I will be the only ones cheering for Jesse instead of Clay on Thursday. LOL

"Anyhoo, poor Jesse, thankfully he didn't break any bones or fall into the crowd and got mobbed by women mistaking him for a straight boy."

Well the women and teens did kindof mob him after the show..and mistake him for a straight boy...lol Heard alot of "he's cute" and then after I spoke with him I got alot of "whos that?" considering the audience gets to see his backside most of the night (which some people didnt consider a hardship..lol)...they definitely didnt recognize him walking around outside at first. He got stopped for alot of autographs on the programs, etc once people put 2 and 2 together...security was urging him to get on the bus after going thru the crowd a few times...but he stopped and offered to sign "for the BARE fan" the last time he came past me which I thought was nice and I didnt have my program on me, i had gotten it at the first show and didnt meet him that night...so he signed my ticket stub instead.

Thanks for the welcome...and to get back on the BARE topic, I just wish I had more of the show than just the 11 songs from the sampler

NJgirl welcome to the thread, and thanks for sharing your story about the Clay Concert, now I am really wishing I had bought tix, but alas the money situation just can not stretch as far as I would like it to.

This is kind of OT... but not really, since it involves the Bare Cast. I was watching D3: The Mighty Ducks today, and Aaron Lohr has a stripping scene in it! He had long hair and he was all bad-ass. He played one of the Bash Brothers, so he got to slam all the hockey players into the walls and beat them up. Good times.

Ahhhhhem. Why does my brother not know where his freakin' D3 DVD is??

BTW, as of right now, I'm planning on going to see Scott in the JCS tour next month. I just have to figure out how long it's going to take to get home afterwards, and how late I'll end up being and all that other fun stuff. It would be *so* much easier if they had a Saturday matinee performance, but nooo. They're all "Oh, Saturday NIGHT and Sunday matinee performance that fishergirl can't go to because she has tickets to see Idina Menzel's last performance in Wicked! Neener neener, fishergirl!" And I'm actually one of those people who upgraded their tickets for Thursday's MSG show. I'll ask my friend, who's got our old tickets, if she found a buyer yet, and if not, I could hold onto them for ya, APGal.

We should have you home in time for say... your 21st birthday in August. How does that sound? We'll just tell your mother you decided to drop out of school and become a JCS disciple.

Well, I'm literally sitting in the last two seats in the last row of the entire theatre, all the way in the corner. So I'll be able to see, ohhhh, maybe the bubble Glinda comes out on. And only when its high high high above the stage.

Congratulations Jwei12! What song did you sing on? And that means you got to see Jesse up close and personal too, ooh lucky you.

Perhaps they'll have Idina do a special flyby of the audience that night and she'll pick you up on her broom and place you in the land of monkey to watch from the grates on the side. Still not an ounce of sympathy to be had. Nope!

ETA: I want to see Jenna go on as the green girl! Though I'm sure she'll rock out Nessarose, I want to hear her Defying Gravity!

i sang on "Silent Night", "o holy night", " Good news", "Jesus, Born on this day", "Don't save it all for christmas day" and "Listen with your heart" ...it was an incredible experience.

....and yes, i worked on the songs with jesse, and went to him for "extra help" with the harmonies. lol, but then again so did half of the other back-ups! :)
and got a picture with him too! he was also very sweet!!!

Hey More Cowbell, are you sure you weren't watching D2 today, and not D3? Because I'm watching D3 right now (I just found it. Yay!), and talking to my Mighty Ducks expert friend, and she says that that's actually the stripping scene in the locker room in D2, and he's barely in D3. And I think she might be right...I've seen that stripping scene in D2 PLENTY of times. It's like my porn. *grin*

And le sigh, trisky. What can I say? It was just dumb luck, me managing to get those tickets. Tell you what - if it makes you feel any better, the girl I'm supposedly going with is kind of flakey, and hasn't even paid me yet...you'll be the first one I go to if she falls out on me, k? Look!

Edited: Okay, nevermind, More Cowbell. I just got to Aaron's strip scene in D3. Oh man, that's nicer than the strip scene in D2. Me likee. *pets TV before dying of happiness* Updated On: 12/6/04 at 12:10 AM

but what makes me mad, is that i didn't realize it was Jesse Vargas. Im a big fan of Bare (based on the songs u can download), and i didn't realize that Jesse was Jesse Vargas! lol i wish i had known, bc then i would have said something about bare! Look! ...lol so i guess i only asked him for a picture with him bc of the obvious reasons! Look!

At the risk of sounding like a spoiled city girl, but why the hell is Staten Island so far away? :P I just came back from a birthday party and I swear, anything more than a 45 minute commute should require a passport! [/end rant] Look!

Anyhoo, I'm far too tired to individualize this but yay for new people, yay for Clay and Jesse and yay for everyone posting.

I can't wait to see Scott in JCS. It really does sound like it's going to be great! :)

Idina's last. Sigh. Fishergirl, no need to ask Trisky because I've got big plans BFF! Look!

I am so thoroughly entertained by that statement. When I was there over Thanksgiving, I stayed on Staten Island and I thought the commute was rather fun...but that's just me...

Awww... that's too bad. I'm sure he would have loved to have known you were a fan. Look! And I don't think a single one of us blames you for asking for that picture for purely shallow reasons!

I'm still amazed at how accomplished Jesse is and he seems barely out of the womb to me. Of course everyone under the age of 25 seems barely out of the womb to me. LOL

Jwei12- Let me just tell you that your choir in Baltimore did a FABULOUS job!! I was at the NJ show a few nights prior and the older choir there was no where NEAR as good as your group was in Baltimore...you guys had it all together down to the "costuming" with the red/green/and scarves....Good News was amazing..please let your friends know you kicked the NJ choir's behind :) And if thats you in your icon...did you walk up the aisle or hold the door for "the music of Christmas" number at the beginning? Bc I SWEAR I saw you...lol

Fishergirl..I dont think Im the Cristin you know on LJ..I post as Chimpy24 over there.

APgal- sorry it wont work out for you to get to a show!!

YAY for Jesse on TV...i believe Clay is doing "mary did you know" on Leno...which is one of his songs that brings the house down at the show.

I didnt have a camera when I met jesse..so no pics bc I so wouldve asked for one...lol
