I had to do a double take when I saw Laura Bell Bundy on Fuller House.
I know she's done a lot of acting for film/television, but as someone who only follows her work on Broadway, it was a pleasant surprise.
I always enjoy Daphne Rubin Vega as woman with baby voice in the restroom in the “Sex and the City” movie.
I was pretty shocked to see Patti LuPone will have a role on Pose this season

I was thrown for a loop when I recently saw Brian d’Arcy James in the movie Dark Phoenix.

saw michael shannon on the train this week. (on his day off)
I saw Gavin Creel walk out of the Shubert stage door today. Anybody have any clue why he would be there? I thought Dolly closed a while ago LOL

I don't know if this counts, because it isn't about a contemporary artist, but it was a real surprise to me to discover Richard Kiley in a few decidedly non-musical 1950s films. I never did get to see him on stage, I only knew him from several original cast recordings, and I'd had no idea he'd had a film career. He is excellent in everything I have seen him in.
I'm never truly surprised to see Broadway actors pop up in films or on television these days. In fact, I expect it.

He's in one episode of season 6,playing a pompous Princeton student who's on a panel with Rory. A Princetonian long before his success as Aaron Burr!"
Better yet, he was once a Demon on Supernatural.

Aren’t Gavin and Celia pretty good friends?
Brian D’arcy James works out at my gym?
I loved Patti Lupone's performance as the rabbi on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, singing "Remember That We Suffered".

Was this during the prebroadway tryout of Little Shop (the production where Alice, Billy, and basically everyone else was replaced before NYC)?
In terms of running into people, I spotted Norbert Leo Butz coming out of a grocery store after meeting him at the stage door of My Fair Lady only about 15 minutes prior. We made eye contact and continued about our business.
As for film/tv/commercials I was surprised to see Annaleigh Ashford pop up in the random Jennifer Lopez vehicle “Second Act”. Then I believe at some point Norm Lewis did an AARP commercial? Also Julia Murney openly talks about all the voice over work she’s done and continues to do. She tells a hilarious story about doing voice over for pay-by-the-hour cable porn.

Laura Linney is in a Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles movie. That just seemed incongruous to me.
A few here have mentioned Sherrie Renee Scott doing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tour - well check out when she appeared on Oprah as April with the TMNT (just search on Youtube). Very unexpected!
From 1990, here’s a permed raven-headed Sherie Renee Scott on The Oprah Winfrey Show:
Ethan Slater played a police officer on Murphy Brown.
Amanda Jane Cooper played a girl who got kicked out of a musical theatre program on Glee. Random one-off appearance.

The four main players in the recent She Loves Me revival are all on Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure (a follow-up series to the movie). My personal favorite was Gavin Creel as a supernatural villain with a French accent.
All my students are obsessed with 13 Reasons Why so I finally watched it to see what they were so obsessed about and was surprised to see Kelli O'Hara there as Jackie.

Today was a werid day...
First,I was walking to Cher and ran into Sarah Stiles walking to Tootsie. Told her about how great her performance was when I saw the show last month. Even though she was in a rush ,she was so nice and we took a pic .
Then at the Stage door at Cher,Frankie Grande came out and was taking pics and chatting with everybody . I was surprised my mom knew who he was (even though she took me to Ariana's concert before she blew up )

Laura Osnes stars in a Hallmark Channel movie on July 1. It's called "In The Key of Love". Surprisingly I have not seen a lot of Broadway stars on Hallmark which is disappointing. Though I believe Patti Murin will be in one of their Christmas movies this year.
I've seen a number of Broadway people pop up on Disney Channel cartoons, specifically The Lion Guard and Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. James Monroe Iglehart and Eden Espinosa are in the latter and I've seen Renee Elise Goldsberry on The Lion Guard. Lin-Manuel Miranda also has been on Ducktales. I think Patti Lupone and Brian Stokes Mitchell play the grandparents on Vampirina. If you follow the Disney Channel PR social media, they usually announce in advance when special guest stars are popping up on their shows.
Saw Taye Diggs check his phone multiple times throughout a Hamilton performance. Not sure if this counts, but I saw Bobby Conte Thornton waiting in line for the men’s bathroom at Hadestown. By the way that line was ridiculous.

I think you’re right, but surprisingly enough, Celia wasn’t on for the performance that I saw. Who knows

In the 1990s or even mid 1980s at Hersheypark amphitheatre they had a Broadway revue show and Emily Skinner was part of it. Adam Jacobs was also a part of the Christmas show they did at a small place called the Music Box in Hersheypark.
