They cut "Not Allowed to Love"? angry

Bradley Dean! yes

Sho-Tunes-R-Us said: "Alas, not the case with the Vegas cast. Just did not have the power and nuance of Lena Hall, Andrew Polec and all the other actors in NYC. I will give LV cast an "E" for effort."

Ugh. I'll pass; I don't care much for Vegas anyway. I was hyped for the U.S. Tour and then COVID hit and everything stopped. I want to see the full show again, with a cast that can actually sing the score.

Good luck on it ever touring.  I just don't see that happening at this point.  If it does catch on in Vegas I may take one for the team and attend again.

Yes, imma "Bad Musicals Masochistic".  Care to share your remembrances of your " favorite " BM?  Wait a minimum!  I just realised that those initials could also represent a certain intestinal activity.  Apologies to those members here with delicate sensibilities.  devil

I saw this in London twice (but not with Andrew Polek), NYCC (once again, not with Andrew Polek), and now Vegas.

I really enjoyed the abbreviated Vegas show.  It just doesn't take itself as serious as the normal play.  Instead, you are kind of getting a shorter, bombastic greatest hits version.  For those who complain it doesn't make any sense, they probably would complain the same for the longer version.  My reaction?  Who cares.  If you love Meatloaf, you will love this.  If you don't, then look elsewhere.

As for the cast, I thought they were very good.  The real star is Alize Cruz who not only looks the part of Raven, but can really sing.  I am a fan of Christina Bennington (whom I saw 3 times in the role), but Alize was really great.  Strong jobs also by Travis Closer & Anne Martinez as Falco and Sloane.  As for Travis Cormier?   He was okay I guess.  I think I am biased by Andrew Polek who IS Strat to me (even though I never saw him live).

So for those who you who want to continue to bash this production, go ahead.  You were never going to like it.  For those who like Meatloaf and enjoy this sort of thing, will still love it.

Thanks so much for your take on the show.  I had hoped to see you on the night I attended (October 13) but am not sure if you were there or not.  We could have had a good old gab fest.  Will you attend again?

No, just visiting Vegas.  I was front row center with my wife.  I really enjoyed being so close to the performers.

Great.  I was in the orchestra next to the sound and light techs.  They were two friendly fellows.

After just 12 weeks, this will close Jan. 1, 2023.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

12 weeks is longer than I thought it'd last, I'll give 'em that.

I'm surprised it lasted that long.  A Meatloaf impersonator would probably do better in Las Vegas, just because they would likely have lower overhead costs.  The shows that survive - like a lot of the magic acts - have just a few people.  Menopause the Musical has four women, a bare bones set, & I think sing to a backing track. A couple years ago for a  few times a year Cindy Williams from Laverne & Shirley fame would join the cast.  That's the kind of celebrity that draws people in Las Vegas.  Even the headliners with residencies don't play nightly.

I live in Vegas, and see lots of live theatre here, but I saw zero publicity for this show.  I guess they relied entirely on casino traffic.  It's not smart to overlook the 2.3 million people who live within an hour's drive.

Glad Meat Loaf isn’t alive to see his most seminal album going through a MAJOR flop era

I wished they'd rescheduled the US Tour, which was cancelled by Covid, instead of doing this Vegas thing.

I am seeing it tonight. It has not been on the papering sites - at least from what I can tell. Did get a 25% discount.

Its a bummer. Every failed theatre venture adds another strike to a local theatre scene.

That being said, the subscription series at the Smith Center is sold out, so there is a want by the local population for the performing arts.

Update: Paris also hosted "We Will Rock You" which is another show beloved in London. It was horrible.

"Bat Out of Hell" is the same. I have no idea what I was watching. Props to a great cast, but the show makes zero sense.

The Paris should do "Fame: The Musical" next and they will have hit the threepeat on London shows that U.S. audiences will never buy into and will fail miserably.

Hmm. I could be misremembering, but I thought the US tour was canceled in 2018 because it wasn’t selling well. That was a year and half before Covid shut everything down.

It was. Then they scheduled another one centered primarily around numerous residencies at Hard Rock Cafe locations across the country. COVID killed the latter.

Although the Smith Center does well in Vegas, the city's professional theatre companies (A Public Fit, Vegas Theatre Company, The Lab LV) struggle due to the lack of media coverage.  There's some fine theatre here, but the audiences can't find it.  Majestic Repertory, with its market-savvy leadership, is an exception.  With the SoHo Playhouse acquiring the Huntridge Theater, the professional offerings will increase.  I hope it will not be at the expense of the existing companies, but we'll have to wait and see. Overall, better publicity is needed.

Bat Out Of Hell is produced by Michael Cohl.  They were lucky to last this long with him.  He/They usually cancel the production for "production issues" (there are none) or "ticket sales" (there is never any marketing).  He got sued for JSC arena tour etc etc.

Any word on the upcoming show? The website looks uninformative. Upd. I was really excited to plan a trip to Las Vegas for this show, but unfortunately, it has been canceled. One of my favorite activities is gambling, and I was looking forward to trying my luck at some of the city's famous casinos. Thankfully, I've discovered many reliable online casinos I can play at instead. One website I found particularly useful is https://gamblizard.ca/best-canadian-online-casinos/casino-payment-options/instadebit-casinos/ which offers a comprehensive guide to the best Canadian gambling sites. With their help, I'm confident that I'll be able to find a safe and trustworthy platform to play at, even if I can't make it to Vegas.

If you mean Bat Out of Hell, it lost money in Las Vegas, & played its last performance January 1.

Thank you, inception. More detailed google research showed that the show is closed due to financial reality.
