Per Megan Mullally and Debra Messing, tonight Wednesday August 16, 2017 they are filming their 2nd new episode of WILL & GRACE.  This is the episode which Ben Platt will be appearing.  Episode is expected to air on Thursday October 5, 2017 on NBC.

Phones are confiscated upon entering the studio so if anyone is at the taping they will have to say so afterwards.  You'll never see any photos posted on any social media outlet of ANY live TV show taping as security is tight.

Bit of a spoiler alert? TV Guide's Matt Roush revealed on Wendy Williams show this morning that Ben will be playing a young gay man with a crush on Will.

Saw the trailer for this episode, looks pretty good. His mannerisms tho... still very Evan Hansen haha. In my mind, his character is just a grown up Evan who realized he's bisexual and has...daddy issues *gasp*

The inevitable The Music Man revival will hopefully help. I don't mind actors playing to their strengths though. Getting typecast is bad if you want to branch out, but if you're excelling really well at what you do, I see no harm in keeping the shtick up for a few years.

"Stonehenge"?  I thought Ben Platt's character was entertaining, but vapid.  Jack, on the other hand, works my last nerve.

^ I'm sure you understand that that's the whole point.  To comment that the younger generation doesn't understand all that the older generation has done to open doors.  If you found his character vapid, he did a good job.  Whether you enjoy that humor or not is a different story.

I just found it hard to believe Will would have ANY interest in him. It would have been more believable if Jack was interested in him.....and more interesting to let Jack be the one to school him.  Show the characters have some bit of growth, at least.

This...and the writers missed an opportunity for a joke that would've been perfect for Jack.

I felt totally the opposite.  He came on to Will and anyone would have been flattered have a younger guy interested in them.  And in keeping with Will's character, instead of just a one night stand, he took the time to  educate the youngster with a hat tip to Designing Women since he is the Julia Sugerbaker of the show.

I thought Ben was fun. But I was kind of distracted by his head always tilting so heavily to one side or the other. Is that a thing he does, or was it just "sitcom" acting?

Yeah, Jack would have had a one night stand and sent him off. And it would have been taken in a (way) different direction.
