I have to say Rent, it sends a shiver down my spine when i hear "there is no future etc", such a positive way to end the show
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

Thank Webber for the megamix!
I do have to admit that Mamma Mia! has a great closing sequence. The first time I saw it, an 80ish year old woman was getting down with her bad self in the aisle. That was amazing!

"Fable" from The Light in the Piazza
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

Definitely agree with Rent - I love that it ends with "no day but today"
lol about the 80 year old woman. I'm still not sure how I feel about the Hairspray movie..

The closing in the revival of 110 in the Shade. True genius.

I've only heard it on the OBC, but the Finale to Cabaret just sounds chilling.
I have several names, one is Julian2. I am also The Opps Girl. But cross me, and I become Bitch Dooku!

I agree with Sunday. And perhaps, Children Will Listen, from Into the Woods?
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

And I will add "Being Alive" from Company.
The Les Mis closing gets me everytime.

I think my favorite closing number would be a toss-up between the Wheels of A Dream reprise and The Ballad of Sweeney Todd

Sweeney Todd. How better to end a classic tragic melodrama than the protagonist slamming a door in the audience's face as the music crescendos?

I remembered another!
Despite the Lifetime movie feeling, Baby has a great ending with the birth of Danny and Lizzie's baby. That whole "... and on, and on..." chorus gets me every time.

Hairspray, A Chorus Line, and Rent are obviously staples, but I get chills every time I hear Jersey Boys' last number ("Who Loves You"). Those last three falsetto notes are just incredible.

Parade's made me cry like there was no tomorrow. I've never gotten that reaction from just a cast recording before, so I have to say it, despite the historical inaccuracy in the ending.
I also have to say Passion. The finale is what got me into the show. And Ragtime.

Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

The closing number to Pippin is also a fave

What happens?
it rains.
I would have said Company, but I thought the closing number meant that the song literally ends the show. There's still that part at the end after Being Alive. But if that counts, I'll add my vote.
