I'll be there on Wednesday and I'm sure it will list the rotation in the playbill. Which Billy do you want to see, nypj? I'm planning on seeing all three...

Will they have a rotation? In London, I don't think there's a set rotation for the Billy's. Pretty sure it changes week to week.

there is no set rotation, it changes from week to week. some billys will do 2 shows one week and 3 the next. I am pretty sure that trent will do opening night though.

That's what they mean by rotation. Rotation means that the schedule varies week-to-week (ala Mary Poppins...it specifically says that the roles are rotated, so their schedules vary weekly, and an insert informs you which two children you are seeing). An alternating schedule is different, where the playbill lists who plays which performances.

Strange. So there's no way of knowing in advance which Billy's will be going on until the board goes up that evening? I guess I'll have to see the other two via cancellation or something...

Usually when there is an uneven number of performers and they share a role equally, rotation is the fairest way to go. One week, X and Y will split six performances, an Z will perform the other two. The next week, Y and Z will perform three times each, while X performs twice. This is my assumption.

It will be the first week of December... I am still working out all the specifics regarding which shows I will see, but Billy Elliot will definitely be one of them.

Well, in the first week of December, NYC will house the hottest guy on the planet. If you guys see a hot, drop-dead gorgeous stranger walking the streets of Times Square, you'll know nypj has graced us with his presence. re: Billy Elliot - Rotation???

Tuesday Tom, Jonty, Megan
Wednesday Layton, Shaun, Alicia
Thursday mat Josh, Jonty, Megan
Thursday eve Layton, Shaun, Alicia
Friday Fox, Shaun, Alicia

As far as I know the Imperial doesn't have standing room, and when I asked they said they were pretty sure there will be no sort of rush. Also, I sincerely doubt it will be on tkts next weekend.

Your best bet would be trying to snag some of the 40 dollar tickets they sell.

Now what would you say if today I started over? Without a thing but this taped together four leaf clover And I'll pretend like everything is already alright And I'll run toward the sun till the castle's out of sight

I had so much fun yesterday from Xanadu I almost forgot I am due back on Wed. for the Billy Elliot Preview. I kinda want Trent to be in on wed. but if not no big deal whatsoever.

boy oh boy, my wallet no longer makes my pants bulge. Money money money must be funny cause my basic needs are no longer being met due to my theater marathon this year. Back to Ramen noodles

yes i agree with the rest of you of with the no set rotation, so the slip will be in the playbills and on the u/s board. there will be a rotation for the micahels and one girl is playing debbie.
i feel too trent will be opening wednesday since he has done the role of billy in london, and maybe opening night too.
good luck to all of them. i think i am going after christmas, not sure yet.

probably b/c he has the most experience doing it in london. I have seen all three boys perform, and all three are sensational dancers. with that being said i would be happy to see any of them.

With the rotation I don't even think they announce in the playbill who is performing that night, it just lists the 3 boys. Unless its different here in the states. When I saw it in London I didnt look online for the rotation list and didn't find out who was Billy until the show started. Luckily, Liam Mower was on that night and thats who I wanted to see!

The Imperial does have standing room. or at least an area for it. I remember when I saw Coram Boy there, there was a wall against the last row of the orchestra and there was a whole lot of room for people to stand there if they wanted to. In fact, there were some people who wanted to stand rather then sit and they let them. The imperial does have room for it. Weather they use it or not is a different story.

Also, I was under the impression that the Disney shows don't really have a rotation. That it is set up in advance which children will be performing at what performance.

If I remember correctly, when BE started in London, the rotation schedule was very hush hush and deliberately erratic coz they didn't want people to choose which boy to see. That's changed now but it definitely didn't happen the first year.

"The Imperial does have standing room. or at least an area for it."

Room for standing room does not mean they have standing room. The theater has to meet fire code regulations. I don't believe the Imperial can meet those regulations with standing room.
