The sound at the end of Expressing Yourself is a percussion instrument (like one of those football rattle noise-makers). It does sound very strange...it's kind of like the ending of a jazz piece!
Hey everyone. I haven't been on here for a while! I went to see B.E last friday. It was simply amazing, I was thrilled that I got to see George as it is the last time I will see him as Billy unfortunately I can't make it to his last performance! He was brilliant though.
Well, since it looks like we still at least a couple weeks until the Billy Ellliot OCR CD is released, I went looking for video and sound recordings. Here are some multimedia downloads that may have been linked from this board before. If you have others clips, or if you need help sharing your clips on the Internet, please reply:
Trailer This short video promoting the search for the next Billy Elliot was released on Sir Elton John’s site prior to the opening. It features a boy singer (I have never seen his name) recording Electricity. Watch for a younger Liam Mower in a white shirt and gray track pants doing back flips and a pirouette, as well as James Lomas with spiky hair near the end. The first link has better sound, but you cannot zoom the image. http://www.uvmedia.co.uk/billyelliot/thesearch.html http://www.eltonjohn.com/billy/vcd.asx
Electricity and The Letter Clips Although these short clips are housed on the BE official site, I’m not sure how you find them without this direct link. They feature the same boy singer from the trailer. This is the first time I had heard The Letter (Dear Billy) since seeing Liam perform it in London last month, and I could feel the tears rolling down my face. Not sure how I will make it through the whole CD when it finally arrives. http://www.billyelliotthemusical.com/ntrackplayer.swf
Liam Interview This is a funny and informative interview with Liam and Ryan Longbottom from a Whatsonstage.com Radio podcast taped in July 2005. I urge you to listen to the whole thing, but you can skip to the end to hear a clip of Liam singing Electricity. http://www.whatsonstage.com/wos/radio/Billy_Elliot_Pod.mp3
BE Official Site - Media Page You can stay tuned to this page for future videos and tracks, but I did not have much success with any of the links. The ones above are better IMO. http://billyelliotthemusical.com/media.html
Again, please let me know of other links, or e-mail me at accordcanada@gmail.com if you have video or sound clips that you don’t know how to share on the Internet (I can help).
Thanx for all those accy, you've certainly been busy!! Steve

Be a BE*liever! Feel the Electricity
It was my day off (Remembrance Day in Canada), so last night and this morning, I read all 2500+ posts since July.
Thanks again to my friend from Nottingham who told me about this board. We actually met outside the BE stage doors and then talked for hours about musicals.
By coincidence, while working on the video I took at the stage door of BILLY ELLIOT during my recent London vacation, I was watching last night's WILL AND GRACE (an American gay-themed comedy) when I heard the opening lines:
Grace: This is so decadent; Flying to London on the red-eye for the weekend. Will: Well, I am not going to go to my grave without seeing BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL.
This was followed by a joke, and another reference later in the show.
Although there have been articles in some major papers and magazines, this is probably the first time many North Americans have heard about the musical version of BE. It might make it a little easier to get it over here.
As I mentioned the other day, people can get the version they want for 50p less than that if they e-mail me at accordcanada@gmail.com with their name and e-mail (so I can Refer-a-Friend).
For North Americans, http://amazon.co.uk still has the best deal since they remove the VAT before shipping.
Owww, bonjour! Alors, c'est vrai que vous parlez francais! Malheureusement, mon francais est mal! J'etudie biologie humaine et francais a l'universite! Mon pere etait etudiant a L'University of Toronto, mais il ne parle pas francais! I think we have to stop speaking french now, cause some of us won't understand! Desole!

BE Fan!: I should have stressed that the interview with Liam and Ryan is audio only in mp3 format. For me, it opens fine in Quicktime (download it free at http://www.apple.com/quicktime), but I have also played it with Windows Media Player after I downloaded it. Option 1: I have a fast connection, but almost immediately after I click the link below, it opens a new browser window, I see a Quicktime logo followed by a tracking bar, and then I can hear Mrs. Wilkinson shriek "Music". Option 2: If that doesn't work, open a new browser window, copy and paste the URL into the address bar and then press return. Option 3: Best Option Right Click the URL, click "Save Target As" (in Explorer - other browsers might use different words) and save it on your computer (as "Billy_Elliot_Pod). That way, you can play it in whatever software you prefer and keep it for years to come, even after the link is dead. http://www.whatsonstage.com/wos/radio/Billy_Elliot_Pod.mp3 Here is a second link, but you have to be a paying member to access it: http://www.whatsonstage.com/dl/page.php?page=greenroom&story=E8821121167846&PHPSESSID=a9b2b3228128215b44da1ee9ce121431
Laura2: Play.com is wrong. The BE official site http://www.billyelliotthemusical.com/be_home.html and most other music sites now say December 5. Distributors like Amazon should get it before that so they can be ready to ship (I have heard of people receiving CDs prior to the official release date) and perhaps the producers will make copies available in the theatre before that (considering December 3 is a historic day with so many cast members leaving), but sadly it looks like Monday the 5th is the official date unless we hear otherwise. Let's hope they don't delay it beyond that because it could affect Christmas sales.
It was good to see two welcome returns at last night's(Friday) show. Firstly the snow is back and is certainly an added dimension which adds to the sense of Christmas.Secondly how nice to see Liam back and in fine form.Whether it reflects his recent problems or not but there was a sense of moody truculence about his deliberately understated acting at times which really added to the sense we all got of Billy's frustrations. His angry dance was first class and I have to agree with Musical Fan's comments some months ago that the anguished verbal pleas and exhortations that Liam adds to this routine are most effective. Liam's singing especially in 'Electricity' could only be described as beautiful and his singing coaching has clearly benefited him. The ovation he got at the end of this routine for his singing and dancing lasted the longest I can recall in the times I have been going to the show. All this raises for me the potent question as to how can such a complete talent like Liam just fade away at the end of his contract.I really hope that the support Stephen and Elton have shown Liam recently will be translated into longer term mentoring so that like Jamie Bell in film, we can appreciate Liam on stage or in Ballet for many years to come.It was really touching seeing Tim Healey give Liam a big hug and kiss at curtain call. Ryan was his usual ebullient self and was well received and appreciated by the Full House. This was also my first time seeing Tessa Worsley as Grandma understudy. What a lovely voice and nice to see her own individual interpretation of the role which was very good. She and Liam have great rapport. All in all a very good show and congratulations to Stephen and all the cast. Updated On: 11/12/05 at 07:25 AM
Board members will be interested to know that at the theatre last night were forms confirming the CD release as December 5th.These were mail order forms with the original cast recording at 15 pounds and the Limited Edition 2 box CD set at 20. The limited edition includes 3 Elton John Tracks (presumably the same as on the Peech Tree road CD) 'Exclusive postcards' and Full Lyrics. For more details contact 'Merchandise Sales,Victoria Palace Theatre, Victoria Street London SW1E 5EA or ring 020 7834 2781. There is a 2 pounds postage and delivery charge to addresses in the UK, 2.50 (Europe) and 4 (USA).Cheques and Credit cards are accepted. Payments by card delivery in 1 week,by cheque 2 weeks. Delivery is promised by 17th December.
The best place to buy the OCR for me is a music shop (HMV or Virgin). We get the item directly, and it's cheaper if you have NUS card - 10% discount, and we can also select which CD we will take in case there's some defect on CD case. Theatres always sold the OCR more expensive from my experience (just like in mary poppins and chitty chitty bang bang), while if you ordered it online, it might take longer to arrive just as alan mentioned earlier (guaranteed 17 december)

Thanks to everyone who has sent me comments and video links. Here are a couple more:
Better version of Electricity Video This Putfile link is streaming video and much clearer than the RealPlayer version, but I'm still looking for full downloadable MPEG if someone has it. http://media.putfile.com/elton_john_electricity_16_9_L_B__Hi
I have to admit, as I have watched these clips over the last couple days (some, over and over), I've been getting pretty emotional. It brings me back to being in the second row of the Victoria Theatre last month watching Liam. When he flew into the air and spun in circles for what seemed like a minute, I couldn't breath. When he sang the letter from his dead "Mam", I was a wreck.
This is how bad it's become. Last night, I actually went to the Air Canada Web site looking for flights for next weekend just so I could see it again. What's worse, I'm vacationing in Cuba the following week.
I'll have to settle for the OCR CD next month, and a return visit to London in the spring to see Travis and the other new Billys (and perhaps Liam if his voice hold out). Can't wait for the Toronto production.
Again, please e-mail me if you have other videos or sound clips to share.
