By the way, for those who haven't found their way to the wonderful world of http://billyelliotthemusical.me.uk/forum please make sure you register your votes for Billy in the whatsonstage.com awards! Here's the link
Thanks for the notification of the Whats on Stage link. We need as much supportive votes as we can get for the musical. It is doing well in certain categories (Best newcomer, musical)but lagging behind in others. Come on all you Hadyn Gwynne fans where are you!!. Please PM me with any final messages for George's card. I need them by 9am 3rd December (UK time) at the latest so they can be included. I have already had to buy another one such is your admiration and affection for this Billy. Woh hang on! Your friend auditioned for the part of Billy for Broadway?!!! That means it is probably going over to Broadway! I thought they were not going to do that. I'm not sure how I feel about that, I think Broadway could ruin it (no offence intended)it is such a British musical. Do you know anything more about it?
I would also like to add my congratulations to members of the cast who are leaving and those who have left this week. You will be missed hugely. All the best for the future!
One more question, are any of the boys who played Michael leaving?
is should NEVER go to Broadway! I don't think even British people can make a nice enough accent, I don't think they can! And I just can't imagining them having American accents for BILLY!!!!! NO!!!!!!!! but let's see what they've done to Mary Poppins first!

Well, I got the OCR from the pre-order from Dress Circle. It says Special Edition, but doesn't seem to have anything special. All of the songs are sung by Liam. Micheal is Brad and Debbie is Brooke. but in the Angry Dance it's obviously George. I have only have time to listen to Angry Dance, Electricity and Finale and I will listen to the rest when I am on my train down to London! But quite frankly, those 3 songs have made me NOT want to listen to the rest. The Angry Dance imo is awful! I don't think there's a moment when George haven't been shouting! And the male ensemble at the back is not singing 'solidarity, solidarity...' but they are shouting and are made digitally to sound like police announcements! I was like wtf!!!!!! Electricity is even worse! The dancing segments is the ballet ones which is the same as the one in CiN. But at the end after the dance segment, there is an extra verse of singing and THEN it's 'freeeeeee, I'm FREE!'. And I have NO idea what the hell is happenin to the vocals at the back. The finale is well recorded. I personally, until now, from what I have heard, thinks that the OCR is rather pretentious. And doesn't do the show justice. It actually made me not want to buy any London cast recordings anymore... after the disappointment of MP and now this.... Broadway cast recordings are MUCH better. The booklet inside has pictures same as the original brochure, so nth special. I just felt it's unfair that James didn't even have a SINGLE song in the CD! cya guys, leaving to London now!

i am quite confused becasue on www.billyelliotmusic.com it has clips and they are very good with all 3 original billys. it also has the ensemble singing solidarity well so how come this has happened?
Hi everyone. It's certainly a great Billy Elliot resource, however I am slightly unnerved by the obssession that one or two members seem to have!
I'm looking forward to the OCR coming out of Monday!
By the way, does anyone have a copy of Liam's number on Children in Need and also the awards last week as I was not able to watch either? Updated On: 12/3/05 at 09:53 AM
I can't see the link for James' Award clip on the board anymore so not sure if anyone has this. I have got it on the PC as a large (19Mb) downloaded file so if you can't find it anywhere and want to let me have an e-mail address that can accept such a large file, PM me and I can send it to you.

Re the OCR - I'm just going to wait until Monday and find out for myself but agree that the comments earlier are rather odd compared to the online clips we heard!
Got some tickets for tonight, having queued since 06.35 ! - and there were already 7 people in front of me. Ended up with side seats in the Dress Circle unfortunately - as all the other good ones had gone - but just had to be there somewhere to see the show tonight. See you all there that are going, or in the Stage Door pub around 6 ! Maybe we should all have name badges on !! ha ha
My mum and sister are watching tonight! My sister is one of the ballet girls and they have a leaving party before the show for those that are leaving. I wish I was watching! I've got to put up with the hype of BE until next June because my sister isn't leaving until then! I suppose it isn't particularly a bad thing to have to put up with though hehe.
I hope everyone enjoys the show tonight.
Good luck George and everyone else involved!
And also...well done to Tim Healy who is performing for the last time this evening!
Hi! Have to say I am rather confused about the OCR too. Listening to the clips on the website the person, supposedly Liam, sounds sooo different in the Letter conmpared to the Letter Reprise. I could have sworn the Letter Reprise was James, it sounds deeper and just different. Hmmm
George is not on the cd - all Billy parts are song by Liam - as I said in an earlier post after having asked someone that works in Working Title Productions.
I have some pictures from the cd insert to put on a post - how do i do that as they are not links but files on my computer?

I haven't got my OCR yet so I can't really comment...
...but we have to remember that the OCR isn't designed as an alternative to the show. The music is designed to be performed live, and therefore we can't expect the OCR to be like watching the show. However, the "digital" additions that were mentioned do sound slightly odd...I'm sure it will be fine though, and at least it gives us a memory of the show until we can see it again!

L.M., George IS in the OCR! It's not stated, but for a normal fan, it's easy to hear that it's George shouting and swearin in Angry Dance! The cast recording overall is alright.. the big ensemble numbers are good, e.g. The Stars Look Down. But for me, Angry Dance and Electricity is definitely a let down and they added a new verse into Born To Boggie too! btw, just came back from tonight's show. SENSTAIONAL! Electricity got a 2 mins standing ovation! Tim was crying, Stephen gave a speech before the show started..... too tired to write a full review. Will do so in the morning! Soz! Nice to meet some board members too!

My mistake - it is George doing the angry dance - but it is a big disappointment as all you hear is shouting, the odd swearing and other sounds - good beat to the music though.
It was an amazing performance tonight (well last night as it is now 1.15am) - Daldry spoke very well - more or less the same that he said when James left. I don't think that there was a dry tear in the theatre. I did not have the time to go to the stage door, but I've been there done that, so to speak - anyway some of the cast know me already so I did not miss much in that sense.
hi thought i would tlk bout to night well actually last night considering the time!! IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING as im sure every1 will agree george gave 150% in the entire show. you could tell that all the cuddles and kisses he gave to the people in the show, he really meant them, georges claps and cheers afterelectricity went on for bout 5mins n he was just laughin, and in the letter miss wilkinson cried. after the show i went to the stage door along with nearly the rest of the theatre! it was packed, and georges mum + others were trying 2 not let the press get to george. all of the billys were there, and that was fab coz ive never seen every billy together and they all looked sooo smart. someone had forgot to bring georges suit trousers so he was the only one who was in his jeans! (must add he still looked hot though!!) so goodbye george i along with millions more will miss you like crazy but you definitly went out on a superb performance. look forward to hearing everyone elses verdict of the night!! xx
AWWWW!!! It's sounds like he did a wonderful job!! (george)and it also sounds like he show went GREAT!! I really wish I could have been there!!!! I am soo sad noww because he is soo amazinggg and it is a shame he has to leavee!! xoxoxo
Great show. As well as the Billys being in the audience, plus the parents of George and the Debbie that's going, so was Denise Welch, Mrs. Tim Healy. George and Brad clearly had a ball in "Expressing Yourself", Brad plastered George with lipstick. At one point during the curtain call, George danced across the stage in Brad's glasses. As George reached the back of the stalls during his final walk down the aisle, he was met by Stephen Daldry who gave him a hug. Very sweet.
so im taking it that liam didnt leave then? it sounded amazing chris T! i wish i was there, your reveiw especially made me laugh when you said that george danced across the stage in brads glasses! v amusing! cant wait to hear otehr peoples verdicts of the night! x
When Stephen Daldry talk last night, he did not mentioned "Liam is Leaving", but he did mentioned ballet girls who is leaving, lucy and george, then tim healy, joe, etc......
