hehe, it's The Lion King. I'm probably the only person obsessed with that show. Oh well..
BTW, the cast announcement is driving me crazy! And are the going to have a website other than the Andrew Lloyd Webber one?
London: Les Mis, Lion King, Sound of Music, Joseph, Hairspray, Billy Elliot
France: Le Roi Lion, Cabaret
Germany: Der Konig der Lowen
Holland: Tarzan & Les Mis

simplejoys, the issue of Time magazine is referring to the Broadway opening of the show. So it's a past issue. The tour hasn't been reviewed yet. Well...it didn't start yet...and TLK yeah...i know...it seems it's going to be announced in late January someone on here said...i don't think any celeb will star in the show though.

Clive Barnes said the show is "Glitzy, Splashy Fun."
I just read his reviews...we usually agree on everything.

I'm definitely going to see it in Dallas in June. I'm really psyched. I saw it on Broadway 8 times. It was the kind of show that just entertained you. It took you away from the outside world. The critics were harsh, but everyone I know that saw it, loved it. Looking forward to it!

Posted: 1/15/06 at 7:47pmawesome...the critics were mixed....as we can see Clive Barnes from the post had good things to say about it...and the NY times review wasn't negative if im not mistaken.

I loved, loved, loved this show. Of course, there have been much better shows, but I found it to be so entertaining, and the cast so sweet. And believe it or not, everyone I've dragged to the show still talks about how much they loved it to this day!
So now here's my question. I definitely want to go, but what's the easiest stop to go to from NYC?

I really hope they get Tamyra Gray for the tour. Even though I doubt it. If anyone sees the show in CA or AZ please post reviews on here.

Muscle, I completely doubt that Tamyra Gray is going to be in the cast.
But yes, it's been driving me crazy, I want to know who's in the show!

Posted: 1/21/06 at 2:26pmYeah TLK, the tour will start in less than a month in Tucson AZ, and the cast hasn't been announced yet...probably they won't have Tamyra unfortunatly. Eventhough Tamyra said on an interview that she wants to be involved in musical theatre later on in her life. Well..i can't wait any longer...if anyone has any info...feel free to post it!

There was an article a while back (I'll try to find it) that mentioned they were trying to recruit Manu and Anisha (original stars) to do the tour. It's all speculation at this point, but I'd love it if they were able to get some of the original cast. Didn't they say they'd put out the tour cast list the last week of Jan? I'm sure we'll know soon enough!
Quite excited!

I have been checking for good seats in Tucson almost daily.
Today some first row center tickets were there and I bought them immediately!
Since Tucson is where they are preparing for the tour (it's not "officially" a part of the tour), I hope they are ready by then and have everything in place.

Dang, I liked him.
I think it is so stupid that they don't have a website other than that Webber one. Talk about not promoting the show...

Posted: 1/23/06 at 2:29pmThey will have a website for the tour up as soon as they get more materials together. They won't be taking production photos until they go to Costa Mesa, casting was just completed and they don't start rehearsals until next week. Things are happening but it's been a hectic time. The 2 leads from the Broadway company are not in this production. Trust me when I say you'll be seeing lots and lots within the next couple of weeks.

Wow, thanks for the info. I am not in "the business", so this seems like it is calling it pretty close to me. Is there enough time to put it all together, rehearse, etc?
