Can’t wait to see next weeks grosses. Wonder how much music man will be affected by jackmans absence and if they will be able to even make over a million dollar over the course of the week.
I’m so very happy for A Strange Loop.
“Funny Girl” did just fine without Beanie. And very nice to see that bump for “Phantom”.
PARADISE SQUARE remains just limping along - I'm glad Kalukango was able to turn straw into gold here, but her performance isn't enough to save this. They need to just winnow away now that they've gotten what little spoils they had a chance at.
I see the audience at CHICAGO also headed for the hills after Pam left. I guess it shows that she really was an event in the truest sense and I can't imagine the Weisslers wouldn't invite her back again at some point.
Great to see everything else get a bump though, especially for the shows entering their last weeks or just announced closings
Take Me Out grossing $717k in the smallest house on Broadway, very impressive. Also nice to see a healthy average ticket price >$100 for A Strange Loop, which is an important thing to watch for.
Who knows how long the Tony bump will last, but looking at availability for A Strange Loop this week, o have to imagine it’s producers are feeling quite happy.
and while one can’t say for sure why more people showed up, it looks like the closing notices might have hurried some people back into seats to catch Tina, Evan Hansen, and Come from Away while they still can.

That's what you happens when you charge $300 for every orchestra seat, even the last row wheelchair seats, and $200 for the last row of the mezz.
Why are people acting like Beetlejuice isn't still pulling in decent numbers?

In April I bought my orchestra aisle seat J 2 for $150 for the June 7 performance.
Ebersole and Wilson’s Tony wins could not save the anemic grosses at Grey Gardens. And that show was one of the best reviewed of the season.
The only thing the Tony will help is Kalukonga’s career. Paradise Square is done.

With how small that theater is, the view from that row is easily worth $200 in any other house. It just happens to be the last row of the Hayes.

With the steady grosses decline, is Company in trouble?...

If it stayed in the $500k range, I’d be extremely concerned right now. I do expect some sort of a Tony boost. I’d imagine they’re safe through Labor Day.

There’s no question that they’re in a sticky situation. The question is whether their wins and performance at the Tonys will give them the boost they need. And that remains to be seen until next week and the following weeks

Fair enough. The price hike only went into effect in mid-May, so tickets bought before then--likely many--weren't at the high prices.
On the other hand, they added a Friday matinee just a couple weeks before (which is why they had 8 performances though they closed on Saturday), and all the tickets for that were at the high price point. That surely helped with the grosses.

And Patti seems to be out tonight, possibly the week(if it’s Covid related, but that hasn’t been announced yet).
Oh, no Patti? I remember back when I bought a ticket to Next to Normal after Alice's win and she called out Tuesday so I ended up seeing her first performance after the win and it was electric.
Historically the worst time to see a show if you want to make sure to see the full cast, is right after the Tony Awards.
No Patti, No Hugh. Sad. But you're right. Kind of sucks the first show back isn't the full cast.

I only paid $79.00 for an aisle seat next to the last row center upstairs. I wanted to see it again but didn't move fast enough. Didn't expect that big of a jump in price. It's ridiculous.

Brown, Letts, and Pendleton are all out at The Minutes tonight, per their Insta story
Blair Brown, Cliff Chamberlain, Tracy Letts, K. Todd Freeman, Sally Murphy, AND Austin Pendleton are all out of THE MINUTES tonight.
For an 11-person play, that's a big YIKES!

We shall see. LuPone and Doyle won’t sell any tickets. Gypsy closed early even LuPone, Benanti and Gaines wins. The folks that wanted to see Patti already have. The best revival win might bump grosses for a few weeks. Unless they announce some starry replacements I say it lasts until the end of summer. Company isn’t an easy sell. Gypsy is far more beloved.
The lackluster cramped Tony number won’t sell any tickets. Should have let Simard perform.

For an 11 person play, that's half the cast ! Why bother going on ?
