John Wilkes Booth
Edwin Booth
Alright, so not exactly 'broadway' stars, but Edwin and John were both big name actors. That's the closest that we have here.

Well in the town next to mine:
Debbie Gravitte lives there currently..so no not from
And Harvey Fierstein used to live there..not sure if he still does. Also not TECHNICALLY from.
Diana Canova lives in my town. Shes more of a TV star but she did at one point have a lead in Broadway. Again, not FROM. Just currently.

Posted: 7/2/06 at 1:14amSallyBrown, you must be in CT, because my friend is a student of Diana Canova in Redding. Not exactly a star, but Stacie Morgain Lewis (current Glinda in the Chicago 'Wicked' company opposite Kristy Cates) is from a neighboring town and studied with my voice teacher when she was in high school. Brooke Tansley, Broadway's last Belle, hails from Waterbury CT, as does Tracee Beazer, who currently impersonates Tina Turner in the ensemble of 'The Wedding Singer.' Both of them used to perform at some of the theatres that I do work with. I have a video of Tracee playing Dorthy in a 1996 production of 'The Wiz' at a theatre I've done a couple of shows at.

In regards to other people's posts:
St. Louis can also add Drew Sarich to that list.
Cincinnati can add Kevin Kern & Megan Lawrence (well, she went to the Music Conservatory there) to their's, too.

I live in CT, and along with those previously mentioned...
Harvey Fierstein still lives in my town. I've seen him walking Main Street before, it's cool, he's really sweet. Stephen Schwartz also lives in my town. In 8th grade, we went on a field trip to see the OBC of Wicked, and he came in (the day after the Tonys!) and did a really cool assembly with us. He was really nice. Also, Christopher Walken lives about 20 minutes away from me.
