Press have been invited back to see the show. Which means they are hoping for new reviews.

Not the ones I think they hope they're gonna get for Billy. I feel they're a lot less kind here than in the UK.

Many critics were either mixed or negative when it opened, and I can’t see that improving especially with Billy being there and Bebe being gone. Although I’ve heard good things about Ellen Harvey. (Is she even Jewish? Quick, somebody tell her to give up the role!)

...Are you familiar with Cabaret? It's kind of a big plot point that Schneider isn't Jewish.

Totally right. My bad. My brain was on Bebe and not the actual character.

Calvin Leon Smith is set to return to the show tomorrow after a leave of absence to recover from Ramsey-Hunt syndrome.

Fraulein Schneider isn’t Jewish. For someone who claims to know a lot about theatre, you’ve really missed the mark here on a pretty basic plot point of the show.
Since it’s clear how ignorant you actually are, you should consider logging off.

You should see the show again before it closes and pay close attention to the plot. I think you have missed what the entire show is about.

Trust and believe if it ran long enough, he'd be there eventually. He'll land in the UK production soon I'm sure.

Okay. *cracks knuckles*
I went last night courtesy of a cheap ticket from Theatr.
Billy is really as bad as the videos and sound bites have indicated.
Marisha absolutely ATE. Her “Cabaret” might be my top 5 song performances of the year.
But Billy…He couldn’t pick a note, or an accent, or a character. Probably more heinous is that his fourth wall breaks are totally out of character and pure Billy. He was nauseatingly bad for most of it. He did about 5 different accents - German, French, British, Southern, and Pray Tell.
He did make some subtle character choices throughout the show that I asked him about and got a cool explanation. But otherwise…eeep.
Honestly, go on a day he is out to see Marisha (8/21 to 8/24) and you’ll get a stellar show. Otherwise, avoid. I was also recently told from someone connected to the production that they may actually be wrapping up by Labor Day - so something to chew on if you are uncertain about going.

I wonder if we’ll see the grosses climb across the week that he’s out. Probably so.

You mean the Schneider thing? I owned that. And yet people couldn’t resist pointing it out even then.

Friend sent me this screenshot from the clock app. Can confirm he did actually say this last night in one of his full character breaks.
Basically, whenever the audience didn’t respond to the joke or give an enthusiastic enough response, he completely broke character as almost a catty reprimand to the audience

Doritos should sponsor her for all those chips on her shoulder.

Well wherever it was, I owned my mistake. Enjoy losing elections for the rest of your life with an attitude like that, Carlos.
Enjoy this clip of an audience member screaming “No, No!” at the end of Billy’s I Don’t Care Much on Thursday night, everyone else.

It's sad to see this show end with such a weak ass casting.

Didn’t Adam lambert also make similar ‘ad libs’ around the jokes? Something like these are the jokes in a dead pan way.
People seem to be loving hating him haha.
