Gorgeous reimagining by Elliott.
Did anyone else find Lupone a snore times two in London?"
No.

Stanley Bahorek and Tally Sessions have also joined the cast."
Love Tally! Who will be Katrina Lenk's understudy?"
Britney Coleman will be standing by for Bobbie"
That's sooo awesome! I love Katrina Lenk but will admit that I'd also love to see a person of color perform as Bobbie!

Here is the list of non-principal cast members as it appeared on Anisha's story:
Kathryn Allison: New Yorker, U/S Jenny, Susan, Sarah
Stanley Bahorek: New Yorker, U/S David, Paul, Theo
Britney Coleman: New Yorker, U/S Jenny, Bobbie, Sarah
John Arthur Greene: Dance captain, U/S PJ, Theo, Andy, Paul, Jamie
Philip Hernandez: New Yorker, U/S Harry, Larry, David
Javier Ignacio: New Yorker, U/S Jamie, Peter, Andy
Anisha Nagarajan: New Yorker/Bobbie Double, U/S Susan, Joanne
Tally Sessions: U/S Larry, Harry, Peter, PJ"
I'm absolutely loving the diversity of these understudies. Almost makes up for the mostly white and brunette main cast. My only hope is as the show extends, these folks will begin to take over the roles full-time and we can see the diversity more representative of the city.

Mmmm. I saw LuPone 3 times and she was hilarious and in strong voice each time. I can’t say Craig was anywhere near as consistent. She will win the Tony.

Clayborne Elder was at Skivvies tonite and I might just pay for front row tix just for him. He has zero percent body fat at this point. Jesus that body

Okay? I don’t think we are going to see him clad in nothing in the show though.
The character of Andy does strip down to only wearing a brief.

For whatever's it's worth, 21.4% (3 out of 14) of the playing cast is African American. The most recent Census notes a 25.1% Black/African American population of NYC (compared to 12.3% nationally).
Katrina sang "Someone Is Waiting" at the Guggenheim tonight, for the Works and Process series. There were other performances too. There was also a moderated discussion with Elliot, LuPone, and Lenk. Hopefully something will be posted soon, so we can finally hear how Katrina sounds singing the score.

Hoping there'll be a lottery for this, I find the Shubert-sponsored ones to be the most user-friendly...
Nice lady in the box office said there will be rush and it will be crazy hard to get

She sounded great, and made some choices that I found very interesting. In an unrelated part of the conversation, she said they're still making discoveries of the character and her interpretation, so I'm sure things will change between now and when performances begin. They recorded it, and I'm sure it'll be posted like the War Paint one was.
Thank you, givesmevoice! I know some were concerned about that accent she tends to sing in. Any trace of that?
Yes, I could hear traces of an accent. I wonder if that’s just the way she produces sound when she sings.
The official Instagram account posted clips from their Guggenheim Works in Process performance. First bits of Katrina as Bobbie

I wish they’d post the full performances.
Also, Patti looks absolutely sensational.
It's only a 5 second clip but I am onboard with those vocals of "Someone is Waiting", which already sound more interesting and expressive to me than Craig's performance. The hand waving might be a little over the top. But I am a fan. This is shaping up well.
Here is a great interview with producer Chris Harper.
Some highlights
- They've wanted an all American cast on Broadway from very early on
- He says Lenk is "utterly enrapturing"
- There are surprises, sets and scenes have been reworked, including the staging of "Another Hundred People, which many people disliked in London
- They are hoping for a Broadway cast recording!

I'm not really sure if this is mean to support my argument or not : but it's not just the Black cast, it's also the inclusions of Asians and Latins of the understudies cast that I'm excited to see and wish we saw in the playing cast.

If this was mentioned already I apologize. Does anyone else wish this could’ve played the Sondheim theater? I just want ONE Sondheim show to play his namesake theater in his lifetime.

Yes! I was hoping this was going to go into the Sondheim theater WITH Jessie Mueller as Bobbie.
I am excited for Katrina Lenk, though!
